Re: apap working as cpap(
Looking at your statistics tab, you are set for APAP, but you had no apnea pre-cursor events (Snores) that would cause the APAP to increase your pressure.

Re: Machine or mask faulty?
I'd suggest placing the machine on a towel. That should isolate the machine if there are vibrations coming from the table which the machine is interpreting as a snore.

Re: He's dying before my eyes
Have you observed him stop breating while he is sleeping? Is he a loud snorer? The clearest symptom to say a person probably has Sleep Apnea before a sleep test is done is if a bed partner has abserved them stop breathing while sleeping. Ideally you would start with an in lab sleep study which your ...

Re: How to encourage husband on new cpap, he is depressed
I think the best you can say is how you relish the day you can sleep cuddled up against him again... When comming here to cpaptalk to learn, I think you need to recognise there are 3 kinds of CPAP patients. - First are the kind who pick up their machin, take it home and adapt quickly to treatment. T...

Re: Could heated hoses cause cancer?
As an electrical engineer, I can tell you that being near a wire carrying low voltage DC current, will produce no electromagnetic emmisions. The cell phone debate is based on radio frequency emmisions which cannot occur with a climate line hose, it is just a wire carrying a low DC current. The effec...

Re: Ontario Gov't pays bounty to Drs to report unfit drivers
My father had a dimentia problem and was unfit to drive. The family called the state DMV and was told a MD needed to report him. We got his personal physician who had treated him for 30 years to write the state. My father went to another doctor (on a good day...) and got the MD to certify he was OK ...

Re: Being used as a reason to not get a sleep study
I sent my sister an email with one of the "effects of SA" type of articles. I repeated about once a month with a different piece of information. My intent was to not pester continuously, but to not give up either. She was one of those saying the doctor is recomending this just to get more money, yad...

Re: how do you know
Suzy, I think you are smart to separate the comfort between the pressure and the mask itself. I found it took a few weeks to get used to the pressure, and I expect that is independed of mask selection. It is just too different to have the alien blowing into your nose For mask comfort, I would ask so...

Re: Zeo Mobile on Groupon for $39 + $5 shipping
I have had some issues with the bluetooth. I have updated to the latest firmware. My Android phone is not on their "tested" list (HTC Thunderbolt from Verizon). The phone looses connection with the headband, and I need to re-pair the phone to the headband. The headband still has all the data for the...

Re: 1st Sleep Study results. What do you think of the numbers?
Just to continue the NC roll call. Wishing you good luck from Burlington for your titration study. I had a split study, so only had about 3 hours on CPAP that night, but I had a feeling of being somewhat rested that I hadn't felt in years. Now, 4 months later, most nights are good (AHI < 1, from dia...
