Re: CPAPfit Pillow Illustrations - feeback wanted

Um, nope. I have no idea who that was Just a point of logic, "nope" is not a valid answer if you don't know who it was. You are making stupid accusations. Bret has been a member of this forum for over 8 years and has supplied valuable products that are used by many posters. recently he sent free pi...

Re: Intellipap CO2 Retention

Unless one has an acid/base imbalance in their blood, CO2 will return to baseline within minutes of an excessive retention situation resolving. The body has an extremely limited ability to buffer CO2 as bicarbonate in the blood, but it doesn't take much before the blood starts to become too alkaline...

Re: Do cpap machines have problems reading CA and H?

In my case it's most likely neurological. My AHI was 2-3 before the stroke on APAP 10-13, after the stroke it was 30-40 average regardless of pressure or ranges (I've tried 10.0-13.0, 10.0-15.0, 11.0-16.0, Wide Open [4.0-20.0]). My doctors last suggestion (11.0-15.0) hasn't helped and my numbers hav...

Re: Stroke Protical

Protocol for TIA, if it was a true TIA, is Clopidogrel, 75 mg, QD, for 90 days afterwards, along with appropriate cardiac (echocardiogram) and cerebrovascular (MRI/MRA) imaging to enure that all the common causes of stroke are R/O. My ER doc didn't follow protocol, though a clean CT/CTA with contras...

Re: Do cpap machines have problems reading CA and Hs?

Here is the graph for the entire night, with pressure and leak rates (please click for full version): http://i.imgur.com/J9g797El.png The gap between 2:15 and 6 AM was because I woke up and couldn't get back to bed. What you said about the short nature of the apneas is interesting. I think that's wh...

Den

This is what I have been trying to convince my doctor to do. I think with the pulse ox data I will finally have enough to convince him to do just that.

Re: Do cpap machines have problems reading CA and H?

The severity differs night to night, AHI anywhere between 35 and 80+, but that waveform is what it typically looks like.

Re: Changed my filter for the first time

I thought they were substantially similar between the two machines. Sorry about that, my bad, I apologize. *Flogs self in penitence for promulgating bad information* I guess the air in your place is just full of crap. In that case maybe you should consider an indoor air purifier? I'd been running my...

http://i.imgur.com/SqGIcGd.png Here is a section from a night when my AHI was 80+ Am I right, is my doctor a moron and these are legit events or is he correct and machine is reading the information incorrectly? I'm guessing since I am not breathing where it says OA & CA, I'm right and the doctor is...

Re: Contec Pulse Oximeter - CMS50FW or CMS50IW

Ah, Thank you, Palerider. It sounds like the I model is one step up from the F then, not to mention, one may get an older Model F without realizing it which would be very frustrating since I heard they made quite a few internal changes.

Re: Changed my filter for the first time

Unfortunately, this is what happens when you deal with idiots, and even worse, this is a very common occurrence in medicine. You always need to double check everything, down to the smallest detail. They don't give a crap about your machine and if it breaks.

Re: Changed my filter for the first time

Larger/Thicker grey foam filter = 6 months Thinner White Filter = 2 weeks - 1 months If you left the white filter in for 6 months you may have harmed your machine and/or shortened its life since it had to exert significantly more effort to pull air through that cruddy white filter that was so badly ...
