Re: Stuffed nose
I use dreamwear and one nostril always closes up, the side that is down. This happens regardless of wearing a mask or not. It is just more noticeable with dreamwear. I've been wanting to try a vaporizer or saline pot. Dreamwear tends to be noisy with any nasal blockage. If not at high pressures, try...

Re: Am I Doing This Right? CPAP Settings
I'm just trying to get my AHI down to something reasonable, like 7. Now doesn't that put things more in perspective?

Re: Sleepyhead and Celluar - Airsense 10
Basic Info: Diagnosis: Server OSA Machine: Airsense 10 Pressure: 8 Mask: Full That is not enough info on the machine, need the model. If your DME is stiffing you on a SD card, he likely just gave you a crappy CPAP machine. Does it say CPAP on the front? If so, you won't get any useful data. My doct...

When in CLINICAL, put it in PLUSS mode. That will give you extra data in the morning without having to take the memory card out and reading it all the time.

If you are willing to wait a little, every question you might have will be asked by someone else and there will be no need to post on the board. Keeping posts to basic facts and not offering opinions is one way to stay out of the fray. Get the help you need, don't make it part of your life.

Re: saline solution in heated humidifier
I used to have a job measuring salt content of the air on a freighter from NJ to Germany and back. You have to get 4 miles from the ocean or up before the salt disappears. Particles are easily suspended by Brownian movement. Being brought up near Cape Cod I was surprised once you got out 100 miles f...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 water reservoir
There appears to be nothing that holds the tank in except friction, nothing latches. You could just take a blunt table knife and pry it out. I have no idea how "new" your machine is, I got someone else's rental. They can get mineral buildup at the outside edges of the heating element that over time ...

Re: Choosing a Battery
I like those little GT POWER meters and use several of them around the solar powered camp. Before I got an autoset machine, I used to look at peak wattage in order to get an idea of how bad the leakage was that night. They will also tell you how low the voltage dropped that night giving insight to p...

That looks pretty normal. Even a very small finger movement will cause the unit to misread. If you have some medical tape, try securing it to your finger.

Re: Is EPR best avoided?
Last time I saw the doc, he said I could try changing the EPR to see if I got improved results. He sets his own to off and says that helps prevent his airway from collapsing during exhales. Aside from comfort issues are you saying there could be a downside to no or reduced EPR in the form of increas...

Sleepyhead, my pressure has dropped to -34 billion
I read pressure fine in all the daily graphs. For several days this has been lost in the bar charts, pressure reads like -34 billion. Did I click on something wrong?

The MyAir scoring system pretty much gives you a star for attendance. I can have an AHI of 17 and still get a 95.

Re: Newly Diagnosed Yesterday (still sinking in)
I was on the edge of moderate like you at16 events/hour. While moderate it lead to a heart problem. To get through my study it took over 2 1/2 months. I wished I had just gone out and bought an autoset machine first thing and had those months of data to work with. Nothing in cpap is easy. The concep...

Re: Res med 10 with no serial number
The guy I got mine from says some insurance companies pay for the machines outright and don't require any compliance checking. He gets a lot of them when removing other medical equipment from the home. Mine doesn't check and my machine is mine after 8 months of rental. I've bought two nice low hour ...
