Yes, I also love to walk - but I like to walk 'somewhere.' Where is the 'somewhere' when everything is closed due to pandemic?

By the way, BabyDino, I like your name. Really creative! :)

You must be in the wrong state. Everything is open here. We went to the RV and rock and mineral shows last weekend.

Thank you. I can't take credit one of the other forum members, I don't remember who now suggested it.  dog slobber maybe ? I identify as one of the grumpy old goats here but I'm younger than some. Just qualified for my aarp rather than having it for years.

I'm in Northern California, in Sacramento. We were shut-down for a long time. Some stuff is open now, but I don't feel safe going to indoor restaurants, theaters and the like due to medical issues. I've been septic (sepsis with septicemia) twice in the last ten years and my guess is, even though thrice vaccinated, if I were to get sick, I'd be a goner. So, I am very isolated in my campus studio apartment. I mean, I really want to earn my JD before I leave this world.

We start in-person classes on Monday at my uni. About 95% of our students are vaccinated. Boosters are required by the middle of February. And we will all be tested weekly. So, it should work out OK.

I am a younger AARP person. So, am I a Grumpy Old Goat, too?

Just read what your doc told you about CPAP users and weight gain. I've been using the machines for 10 years now. My weight has varied up and down within a range of about 155 to 175. None of those shifts could be attributed to my use of CPAP or ASV machines. But I have noticed what drives those weight changes. Guess what. If all other variables remain the same and you eat more, you gain weight. And if you eat less, you loose weight. Ain't that somethin!

You might want to check out other sleep docs. First thing, ask each one about weight gain and CPAP.

Good luck in school. Study hard.

You are as old or as young as you feel. Somedays I feel like a teenager and others like a grumpy old goat. Lol.

I'm sorry you are locked down so much. Hubby and I both have health issues that put us at high risk as well but we decided to live our lives. We were both super sick a month before they announced the virus lock downs. So I suspect we've had it. We've not tested positive for it (hubby has never tested for it and I've only been tested once) but we live with adult kid and her SO and they both tested positive a while back (work requirement for them. Our doctor says if one in the household gets it you all have it. 🤷‍♀️ we did quarantine with them for the 5 days.

"Our doctor says if one in the household gets it you all have it.

Sounds about right. I have only been safe so far because I live alone, I suspect.

Every time I become septic, I am hospitalized. Once well again, I suffer seemingly permanent disabilities. Remember when the medical specialists were all talking about the great danger of covid-19 cytokine storm? Well, that storm easily and very quickly leads to bacterial sepsis. So, I really cannot take a chance with this covid.

But I am very glad you and your family are surviving this all nicely. That's good news. And now that you know your vaccine is doing its job for you, I hope you feel safer and as-if you can return to a somewhat more normal life. More power to you - and best wishes!

Here in Nebraska, there are numerous events, but I avoid everything indoors,
except appointments and grocery/pharmacy pick-ups.
Having barely finished chemo, I am not comfortable around people
who put their "freedom" above my right to survive.

I hear and relate, Chunkyfrog.

Kudos on finishing chemo! That's a huge accomplishment!

Actually, catching it early was the most important part.
Early makes all the difference.
They have refined the drug combination for my cancer so well that
I never really felt "sick".
It just took a bit of work to control the diabetes, and the diarrhea.
