Phillips Respironics - Virus & Bacteria Filter

Post by macleadv » Sun Jul 25, 2021 9:12 am

On receipt of the Phillips Recall notice, I have purchased the Phillips Respironics - Virus & Bacteria Filterer for my DreamStation CPAP machine. with .pre-heated reservoir.

I am wondering if this filter affects the pressures for my CPAP preset
parameters.and the accuracy of the AHI readings.
I do not use heated tubing.

Should my setup and data using this filter be reviewed?

Use of the inline bacteria filter will affect (reduce) the pressure delivered at the mask level a little bit but not hugely.
Shouldn't be a problem unless you were already using maybe the bare minimum pressure to keep the airway open.
You can use a manometer to measure pressure at the mask with the use of the filter and without to see just how much it changes things.
