I have been using a ResMed Quattro FX mask for 12 years and would like to know what is the next "step up" mask which is similar? My DME will not ship me supplies because I need to recertify, so I have to go out on the open market and purchase them my self.
I was diagnosed 12 years ago and have a setting of 13.2. Medicare recently would not allow my DME to ship me supplies until I retested
and this stopping of supplies came completely out of the blue, with no prior notice or anything.
I have taken three new sleep studies and still cant reach the Medicare 5.0 level required by Medicare to have my supplies covered by my insurance. I tested 3.7, 2.0 and 1.0 I don't know what do do anymore and I am asking for advice on ordering a new mask as It look like the Quattro FX is being discontinued.
Thanks for any advice,
Frank

Re: Replacement for Quattro FX mask
Sorry for the problems.
Preferences in masks is very individualized. You can see a wide range of full face masks at the forum sponsor's website - https://www.cpap.com/plp/full-face-cpap-mask/ZT0yNjU There are photos, ratings, reviews and specs.
You can also find reviews and fitting and usage videos on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... masks+cpap
If you see something that appeals to you, you can come back here and ask for comments from users.

Re: Replacement for Quattro FX mask
It isn't common that Medicare would require a repeat sleep study just to get supplies.
They actually don't want to pay for something that is probably not needed.
I started cpap in 2009....and that was the last sleep study I have had and I don't have a problem getting medicare to pay for supplies.
Who told you that you need another sleep study?
I would suggest that you call up Medicare and ask them directly if they want another sleep study.
Don't rely on what a DME or doctor might say you need without verifying with Medicare yourself.
