Philips discontinues many products
Philips have announced the discontinuation of many respiratory products including the Dreamstation Go, various ventilators, oxygen concentrators etc. Apart from the Go, it looks like Dreamstations are still being produced.

first line in the article-
"We have streamlined our portfolio to enable us to focus on programs that are best suited to changing market dynamics and will most effectively serve patients and customers in the future."

Re: Philips discontinues many products
Please allow me to translate, if you will. I understand Respironese.
"We have individually decided in our personal portfolios only to buy stock in reputable companies instead of stock in our own lost cause of a company."We have streamlined our portfolio
to focus on programs
"We've been watching more Netflix lately."
"We can't seem to do anything right in the CPAP market, so we're gonna blame the market itself instead of blaming our own general incompetence."that are best suited to changing market dynamics
"We have utterly failed to serve all our customers in the past and in the present, but maybe we'll accidentally do something right one day."most effectively serve patients and customers in the future.
That last phrase shows that at least they haven't lost their sense of humor and that they enjoy saying truly ridiculous things with a straight face in public. Monty Python fans should be proud.
But I think the overall gist of their message is completely on point, and I embrace it. I would summarize it loosely this way as a translation into plain English:
"In order to better serve the public, we will be making fewer products for them."
Amen to that, sirs. Amen to that.

Yeah, boilerplate for "Circling the drain--jettisoning low value cargo."
Watch for clearance flotsam.

Re: Philips discontinues many products
Currently starting looking for a Travel CPAP due to the failure of my health care, so I am being more responsible for a back up for my therapy, because they are incompetent in our increasingly profit only driven society, and was looking at various options and liked the Dreamstation Go, but now this happens. At least I learned first. Luckily I hadn't used other Phillips products and wasn't effected by the recall.

Finally.

Further:
"PHILIPS AGREES TO TERMS OF CONSENT DECREE"
"UNTIL THE RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS ARE MET, PHILIPS RESPIRONICS WILL NOT SELL NEW CPAP DEVICES."
"In the U.S., Respironics will continue to service sleep and respiratory care devices already with health care providers and patients, and supply accessories (including patient interfaces), consumables (including patient circuits), and replacement parts (including repair kits). Until the relevant requirements of the consent decree are met, however, Respironics will not sell new CPAP or BiPAP sleep therapy devices or other respiratory care devices in the US."

Re: Philips discontinues many products
The mask I have used for many years was discontinued, Swift LT. I have been trying a few different masks and settled on a Philips Dreamwear mask. It is not clear to me whether or not Philips will continue to sell masks. Has anyone seen info regarding this?
Re: Philips discontinues many products
My understanding is that "interface" is the fancy wording for CPAP mask, and the above-linked article says:
In the U.S., Respironics will continue to . . . supply accessories (including patient interfaces)
Re: Philips discontinues many products
