bacterial filters

Post by Arizona-Willie » Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:01 pm

I got one of those rounded filters with openings on each end.

Despite their claim that it doesn't reduce pressure, I had to take my mask off because I couldn't breath.

Do they put more than one filter in for shipping?

It said to refer to directions, but there were no directions.

Nothing on the item itself either. No indication for direction of air flow but the openings only fit one way.

I was stunned when I couldn't breathe through it.

Anyone else had this happen?

How did you deal with it?

I found the same thing with those style filters. There is a setting in Resmed S10 that is supposed to compensate for the pressure resistance but I thought that didn't really make a difference.

So I developed a different solution that works so well:

If you remove this filter and try to blow through it using your lips, is there a resistance?

I can blow through it either way with no problem.

But when I install it in the hose there is a marked resistance.
