Re: AIRVIEW & MyAir communications
My DME uses Airview to "monitor" my Apap via cellular. They also have Rescan but that requires I bring in a SD card. According to him, the finest granularity with Airview is every 60 seconds. They can not see Hi resolution Flow Rate data so have no ability to see/discuss breath-to-breath shapes. He ...

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
My brother tells me that his Cardiologist told him the same thing.... Obstructions during sleep can/may trigger heart arrhythmias, particularly Atrial Fibrillation. The danger of blood clotts is far greater for atrial fib, hence the script for anti-coagulants.

Re: central apneas and hypoventilation?
A parkinson's link is hard to think about. Yes, it really is. But these things, thankfully, are the exception to the "rule" that centrals are always caused by micro-awakenings. In my family I have a cousin who had to have her apneas treated by a ventilator, The machine that she ended up with was an...

Re: central apneas and hypoventilation?
So Ozij suggested trying to track the relationship between the flow limitations, central apnea and pressure swings. Does this reveal anything? I'm a bit lost at this point. https://imgur.io/a/vsCVYvb What I can tell you is that (in my OSCAR) graphs: If there is no change in flow limitations, the CP...

Re: central apneas and hypoventilation?
[ The technician is right that CPAP/APAP is primarily aimed at treating Obstructive apneas and flow limitations, not at all for clear airway apneas . No. That would be very wrong, since CPAP often solves ALL forms of apneas, given time, and is often aimed at centrals: What a curious thing to say. I...

Then don't come back, so far you have not had much to contribute.palerider wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 11:58 amWondering1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 6:06 amHow much “more work” ?

Unlike Robysue, I'm not interested in playing your troll games.

Re: Baseline for Desaturations and Flow rates
And yet, the entire community of sleep medicine professionals do not agree with you and your pet theory. My "pet' theory is that the TV data should be taken into consideration. Are you saying that the "entire community of sleep professionals" choose to ignore TV data? ' cuz that's what It sounds li...

Re: Baseline for Desaturations and Flow rates
in an effort to promote your pet theory that tidal volume should be used instead, you're not going to persuade anybody that you know what you are talking about. Yet another area of dispute. "your pet theory that tidal volume should be used instead ". I have consistently said that TV should be consi...

BTW, the flow limitation graph is flat at 0.02 (and of course that graph has no measurement units - highly suggestive that it is not a measured quantity

Re: Baseline for Desaturations and Flow rates
Way back on page 5 I gave you this assignment, which is specifically designed to help you answer your one basic question as stated above. You didn't do the assignment back then, So honestly, I looked at it and the abstract, but since it was dealing with flow limitations, it didn't seem to pertain. ...

Re: Baseline for Desaturations and Flow rates
. Actually there's one basic question that has yet to be answered, all the rest is superfluous, Is the instantaneous peak amplitude of an inhalation used to evaluate hypopnea condition OR is the volume of an inhalation used to evaluate hypopnea condition. Obviously the baseline (whether it cover 2 ...

Re: Baseline for Desaturations and Flow rates
So, include the "big breath" peak in computing the average of the previous 2 minutes, before comparing to each subsequent breath. Ok, so did that (same process in acquiring (reading) the data and the baseline value should be (with the big breath included) which altered the baseline slightly from 24...
