Re: Do I have Cheyne Stokes breathing?
So I ordered a used ASV and tried it for 3 nights. I've noticed that as soon it comes off ramp, the IPAP spikes up. Screenshots are here: https://i.ibb.co/ZWm4nFr/ASV-1.png https://i.ibb.co/HV72LmL/ASV-2.png https://i.ibb.co/BB44PB3/ASV-3.png ^The first 2 segments of my 3rd screenshot isn't as errat...

He ended up needing a bilevel machine where he only needed cpap before.
And he could not talk while eating, as food would go down the wrong way.
A wretched thing to do to a nice guy.

Are central apneas more common at higher pressures?
Are CSA events more common at higher pressures? (Perhaps due to more frequent arousals?) I'm thinking of using an MAD device simultaneously with CPAP. I assume that this would allow me to reduce the pressure, and I'm wondering if the reduced pressure would also mean a decrease in the CSA events that...

Wisdom tooth removal causes sleep apnea?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Oral surgeon Dr. Steven Park wrote an article about it here:

And here's another article written by an orthodontist:

Re: Tooth extractions causing sleep apnea?
As this stands alone, this doesn't make a bit of sense. Are there other reasons to have your wisdom teeth extracted? The other reason is that one of the wisdom teeth is completely horizontal, creating a pocket that is sort of hard to clean. (I can manage if I use a floss pick). Anyways I'm also won...

Tooth extractions causing sleep apnea?
I was about to get my wisdom teeth extracted so that when I get a mandibular advancement device, it can wrap distally around my 2nd molar. But then I came across this article: https://doctorstevenpark.com/can-tooth-extractions-cause-sleep-apnea To be sure, the article talks about orthodontic extract...

Re: Treating flow limitation causes more central apneas?
IMO you missed that one, too. Well I did reply previously saying that I've been looking at many things that could cause fatigue outside of sleep apnea, and have done countless blood tests for chronic virus, endocrine, protein markers, genetic disorders, etc... Only recently have I been focusing bac...

Re: Treating flow limitation causes more central apneas?
So we're both correct but in different ways. Yeah, no. You haven't grasped the concept that life is finite and all your aforementioned tribes are (or will soon be) fertilizer. Now, if you want to offer that a bag of 1-1-1 decomposing human carcasses has some sort of value in re: contributing to a c...

Maybe I'm just bad at communicating that despite my disagreement with some of the things he says about me, overall I do appreciate his advice in regard to sleep apnea.
And I'm sure countless people on this forum do as well

Re: Treating flow limitation causes more central apneas?
Au contraire, it's the ultimate zero-sum game. I suppose it depends on the scope you're referring to. On a grand scale, since entropy increases it's definitely true that any increase in order locally necessitates a larger decrease in order elsewhere. I.E dumping garbage/disorder somewhere else so t...

Re: Treating flow limitation causes more central apneas?
If the average sleep physician was 'all that', then this forum wouldn't exist, because people wouldn't be searching for help. Yea for sure, it really is unfortunate. That's why I'm here Send your brother this way. Great! I likely will. Again you guys are the experts, and we're here to learn. But I ...

not any that you posted, you're imagining things. Or maybe you want picture perfect breath shapes, and those just don't exist. Sure if you disagree, then yea you're... probably right? Re: Treating flow limitation causes more central apneas?
Anxiety really sucks. At some point, one might seek the expertise of a mental health professional. Misery until the problem is resolved. To be honest I didn't really have anxiety about my sleep apnea for the longest time. Mostly just acceptance, especially considering my brother's experience. But a...
