Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

Got more blood work on Friday. All normal for Thyroid, Testosterone, Vitamin D. The only slightly unusual numbers (but still normal) were hemoglobin and CO2. My 02 doesn't really seem to drop much at night, but maybe the high CO2 is messing up my breathing while asleep.

Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

I'm thinking I'll probably shoot for maxing the pressure short of getting aerophagia and see how I fee.

Any experience with going to BiPAP to clear flow limitations/snoring without aerophagia?

Re: AHI under control, still feel terrible

Definitely try to get the leaks under control first since it can really throw the quality of the data. You may want to work on bumping up your minimum pressure to try to reduce the flow limitations. Bump the pressure 1/2 to 1 cm and sleep a few nights and then review data. Lowering the top end of th...

Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

Trying to get my pressure dialed in, but by the time I hit a pressure that is pretty reliably eliminating flow limitations and snores I'm getting pretty bad aerophagia. I've even had to do pretty big burbs in the night. Getting down to 12-15 cm with EPR 3 seems pretty good. Tried 11.4-13 cm with EPR...

Re: Deep breath/flow rate spike and possible arroussals every night?

I've tried looping it up over the headboard. Trouble is I like to roll over on my stomach and put my pillow on my head. I loved the P30i for the top of the head connection, but my hair protested by laying flat under the band. After ditching that mask it took days for my hair get rid of the strap mark.

Re: Deep breath/flow rate spike and possible arroussals every night?

Thyroid, B and Iron are good. Not much Lyme in the desert. D has been low at prior physicals and taking supplements. Testosterone is on the list for upcoming blood work. I'm thinking the CPAP might be part to blame. I've never really slept sound since starting almost a year ago. I used to sleep supe...

Here are clips from last night. Re: Tidal volume varies

I have had similar experience. I live at around 4,500' and notice my breathing rate and tidal volume goes UP about 10% when I'm at lower elevation (600'). It then goes back down after returning back to altitude. Not sure why. I would have though it would be opposite but there is a consistent change ...

Deep breath/flow rate spike and possible arroussals every night?

I think I'm getting close to having my pressure dialed in pretty well to eliminate apneas and flow limitations, but looking back over almost a year of data I see every night especially in the first 2 hours there are spikes in the flow rate with an associated short pause in breathing that I'm assumin...

Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

Those spontaneous arousals seem to happen every night throughout the night, but especially in the first few hours. In some portions of the data it's like clockwork occurring at around 10-12 minute intervals for at least some portion of the night. I don't believe I have ever had COVID at this point u...

Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

The breathing variability is more of the curiosity of the engineering mind. The whole breathing process and intricate systems that are involved are fascinating. Home sleep study was done about a year ago CMS AHI 12.0/AASM AHI 24.0 with 02 levels above 90% most of the time even at altitude close to 5...

Re: Variable dwell time between breaths

Not sure why you would say it's in my head. The apparent pattern is obvious in the measurements taken by the machine.

Variable dwell time between breaths

Has anyone noticed a cyclical change in the dwell time between inspiration and expiration? Last night during what seemed like a stretch of pretty good consistent breathing I was getting a cyclical pattern in the time between breaths. Sometimes the inspiration goes pretty seamlessly into expiration b...
