After 3 months FINALLY ABLE TO SLEEP!!!!!

Hello All; I know it's been a few weeks since I posted, but things have been kind of crazy. The good news is, about 3 weeks ago, I slept throughout the night for the first time. Hallelujah . . . praise Fisher Paykel. My full-face mask came in and, while I prefer the headgear of my ultra mirage FF, t...

Thanks so much to Ann, Teej and everyone else

I'm sticking to my Ultra Mirage FF mask until the Fisher Paykel comes in, I'll give it a try for a few weeks and if it doesn't work out, I'm open to trying the nasal pillow - I'm also going to look into the memory foam pillow, a lot of people have been saying great things about it. Thanks, folks.

Doc wants my tonsils, any suggestions on a good nasal pillow

Yeah, I know those two are unrelated, but I thought it might get someone's attention. When I met with my sleep doc yesterday, he said my tonsils were very impressive and if it hadn't appeared that I was improving with the therapy, he would recommend taking them out (my mom had that argument for year...

Doc prescribed Fisher Paykel FF Mask

I met my "sleep doctor" on yesterday and we discussed how my therapy is going. I told him I was having problems with leaks in the mask and waking up with very dry mouth and a couple of times, I have woken up (is that right??, anyway . . . ) with my mouth wide open biting on the bottom of the mask, w...

Don't let it frighten you. Mine was 61 events per hour, the longest one was 73 second and my oxygen level got down to 66%. I'm currently on a BiPAP set at 17/13. I'm still struggling getting used to the equipment at such a high pressure, but since starting therapy in April, my NP is down to 120/80 w...

I'm only ending my second week, but last night was my first night staying on for about 7 hours. Before it was just 2-3 hour spurts with a couple of hours inbetween of not being on the machine. I'm not ready to run a marathon yet, but I was able to get up this morning when my alarm clock went off, ta...

Well don't I feel intelligent. Anyway, my cd drive is busted. I had to sing "O Holy Night" for a christmas eve midnight service and decided to rehearse through it with the cd right before leaving the house. My computer went out with the cd in it and I didn't know about the little pinhole that would ...

Unable to use Mirage FF Mask CD

Hello All; I'm still working on perfecting the use of my mask and several of you have advised to watch the CD because it provides exellent instruction on fitting the mask. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch it, I don't have a dvd player. It was a choice a couple of years ago between getting...

Diva, You might be trying too hard. I have a Mirage Series 2 and have found that if the straps are too tight, it is just as bad as if they are too loose. The top strap on mine is just snug. The middle two are loose enough to fit two fingers between the straps and my head and the bottom two are snug...

Re: your machine

Diva, I can't answer your question, but I am asking what machine are you on? My doctor just wrote a RX for a bipap and I'm trying to figure out what to order. My pressure is 11, and he talked like I could go as low as 4 on the exhale. I will also get the Ultra Mirage FF. Do you have C flex with you...

Trying to rigg Ultra Mirage FF for better seal . . .???

I am celebrating my first night sleeping all night with my bipap . I went to bed at 11:00pm and with the exception of a bathroom run at 1:00 (and I refused to remove my mask) I woke @10 minutes before my alarm clock went off . . . woo hoo!!! I've even realized that even at my pressure (17/13), I don...

Hello; I'm in Atlanta. I was disappointed to find out that there's no local A.W.A.K.E. chapter, yet I know there are a good number of folks in the area that have used cpap 's for years and just starting out. It would be great if we could get together once in a while. In the meantime, welcome to the ...

I can recommend two things to you, realizing that I'm a new user - just over a week. I haven't had the bloating since the air's going allllll the way through. My problem is the constant gas. I'm talking an alternate fuel source for the space shuttle . . . jeez. My cat won't even sleep in the room wi...
