I pull the 'whole sebang' apart every a.m. - most days, it's a rinse with a tiny bit of baby shampoo...

Once a week, it goes into a 'buzz tub' with 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water for a ten minute soak...

Remember, most of the tears your eyes create go through a small duct into your nose once they do their job in the eyes. It's possible that air could be working up that teenie-tiny duct, but there is a much easier path down your throat for the air to go...

Try the Breeze - I'm a side sleeper, and that mask never bothers me...

It's small, you don't have to cinch it up like you are saddling a horse to keep it from leaking, and there's no red marks all over your face in the morning...

You might want to give it a try!

OK, the fact that you don't go into REM sleep is a problem. You have got to go get another opinion... It might not be an apnea/breathing problem at all. GET THAT SECOND OPINION! ANd, about the work thing - if your boss gives you static, ask him/her if he/she would rather have a bright, energetic, FU...

Ahhh, yes, sweet bliss. So, after sleeping with the straight CPAP for a week and wearing it for something like three hours a night, I slept with the APAP on for Nine and a half hours on Friday night, nine hours on Saturday night and eight hours on Sunday night. The bags under my eyes are going away ...

Dang - this sounds too familiar... I originally went to an ENT for my sleep study - first, he tells me that I am 'perfectly normal' - but orders the Sleep Study to be sure. Then, I get back for the follow up appt. - and he can't understand why I woke up 80 times in a five hour sleep test. 56 of them...

I love my AutoPAP - After a week plus on the straight CPAP - with VERY bad sleep - I slept a full NINE AND A HALF hours on the APAP the first night I had it (Friday). That thing is great....

Yeah, I'm a Breeze guy - when I brought the diagnostic APAP in for the results to be read, the Resp Tech shook his head in amazement...

"No leaks during the entire month. There's a first..."

It's just a very light, comfortable mask - it's great....

Jane - You aren't unsympathetic - I like your story - but WOW - 10 as a minimum! That's when my ears pop! My doc should call tomorrow - in the meantime, I did manage to sleep from about 11:30 until about 4:30 with the CPAP on last night - maybe I am getting used to it.... But, BOY, do I miss that re...

OK - I'm 6' and 215. The doc says for me to get out of 'overweight', I'll have to drop to about 180. I have a pretty large, athletic build, and yes, I could stand to lose anywhere from 15 to 20 pounds - which the sleep doc says will reduce my snoring to nearly nothing (about a 10% drop in body weigh...

For me, I noticed a huge change. The CPAP is at max pressure all the time (unless you use the ramp feature), while an APAP will track your needs all night and adjust the pressure to what you need.

I found the APAP far more comfortable than the CPAP I am on...
