Re: I beat OSA! S8 Elite for sale

. . . Your machine has no real value with the older technology and number of hours. Thanks STL Mark, I was wondering about that. I used it for five years, and it's been idle for 2 and change. Motors generally do not like sitting around for years without use. But even if I were to . . . err. . . "br...

Re: I beat OSA! S8 Elite for sale

Anyway, back to the point at hand: . . . (ResMed S8 Elite) with 13313 hours used and don't need it any more. The head gear is old and the rubber parts are a bit yellowed on my Mirage II mask (not sure if it is medium or large), but the hard plastic is OK. Filter's probably ready for replacement. Als...

Re: I beat OSA! S8 Elite for sale

Thanks 49er. Nope, no study. I don't snore and I don't wake up gasping - all confirmed by a sleepmate. And I've kept the weight off w/o the machine. Others may think I should get a new study (and they are free to do so), but I am confident in my results. Interestingly, my OSA became intermittent nea...

I beat OSA! S8 Elite for sale

Hi all, Been a while since I was here. Been OSA free for two years after CPAPing for five. Still have my machine (ResMed S8 Elite) with 13313 hours used and don't need it any more. The head gear is old and the rubber parts are a bit yellowed on my Mirage II mask (not sure if it is medium or large), ...

Here it is, in all it's greed: http://sleeprestfully.com/images/SleepRestfullyRPIP.gif Geez. I too like my S8 Elite and my Ultra Mirage II mask. But I am very dissapointed in Resmed's heavy handed tactics. Clearly they desire to be the premiere CPAP maching supplier, and plan to get that way by char...

After I clean my hose, I let it drip dry for an hour or so, then put it back on my machine and set the empty (since I cleaned it) humidifer on warm. The machine blows a small amount of air for a while while the humdifier is set to it's lowest setting (no heat). That dries out the hose right quick.

I'm a one side then the other sleeper, and had the same darn trouble. Just get comfortable and the mask would start leaking. One thing that was suggested on this board was a pillow made from Buckwheat hulls. They form very well, so you can adjust your pillow to reduce pressure on your mask. I got mi...

What's a snipe Brenda?? Sniping is a very common practice on ebay. In short, it's the practice of sellers swooping in with a high bid at the end of an auction so others don't have time to counter. That's partially incorrect. Sniping is swooping in at the last minute with a new high bid, but it's us...

S8 Elite - EPR off but working?

I like my S8 Elite. I have the EPR, Ramp, Smartstart, etc all turned off, and pressure set to 9.2 cm/H2O. Yet when I exhale, the machine still drops pressure. I can hear the machine slow down when I exhale, then kick back up when I stop. I can see the water in the tank ripple except when I exhale (i...

Is it the pressure? Meaning, if you run at say 9 cm/H2O are your sinuses and eyes and such OK? I realize you'll have more OSA, but it's part of figuring out what might help you. If you can run a lower pressure, then that might be better than nothing (others more knowledable than I feel free to jump ...
