Hi GrayGables, I am just getting over a nasty cold. My magic bullet was to take Mucinex with cough suppression along with DRIXORAL at night. My nose wasn't very stuffy, and I use Nasacort anyway, so I didn't have a problem with that. Anyway, I slept pretty good most nights with that combination. Hop...

Babbette,

Please be careful...our world just wouldn't be the same without you. What kind of clients does he have - he's not a taxidermist, is he?

Welcome to the forum, Bobby_tee! Here's a few ideas to make your first night a little easier: Make sure you try out your set-up (mask on, hose suspended above you somehow, and machine on) while lying down before you actually go to bed. Know where you are going to unplug yourself (at the machine? bet...

"Guest "said: Of course yes, but CPAP equipment suppliers would have you believe no. This is a no-brainer. OSA is the blocking of the airway during sleep. If an oral appliance keeps the aiway open, then obviously the OSA is eliminated. Will an oral appliance work for everyone? Probably not but it's...

Welcome to the forum, Rubberchimp! (Interesting handle, by the way ) I'm sure you'll be successful with your therapy, since you've already taken so much of it into your own hands. There's so much to learn, for a relatively simple condition! I'm 16 months into it myself, and learn new stuff on this b...

If one has obstructive sleep apnea, not central, and the snoring is eliminated, wouldn't that make it quite likely that the apnea is eliminated as well?
The short answer is no.

Cathy

Good for you! Happy to hear that things are going all right. Keep the faith, it's a journey, not a destination. Luckily we have such kind people to travel with.

Take Care,
Cathy

With the comfort gel, try cutting almost all of the sticky ends off of a bandaid and putting it on the bridge of your nose. It'll still seal, and will keep your nose from getting sore.

skjansen, if you're considering APAPs, consider the PB420E. The data output and the software are very comprehensive and user friendly.

Just a thought,

The positive air pressure "prevents" obstructive apneas (when set up correctly) ... it does not undo obstructive apneas.
HUH? Really? The increased pressure will not open the airway? I'm flabbergasted if this is true.
