Me, too. Didn't even show me how to check to see if EPR was set on on. The machine does so much more than they tell you . I thought
the video with the above link was really helpful. Thanks again.

Re: AHI of 5 -- would you CPAP?
You are in a tough situation--wanting to help someone who doesn't seem to want to discuss the problem. My thought is if the doctor didn't recommend a cpap then why and how did she get it and how did she determine what setting to use? Could it possible that her O2 sats don't drop enough to cause conc...

My first cpap was just handed to my by the DME--didn't know anything about them. I bought the second one out of pocket. Now I am using a DME on the preferred provider list. Could not find any one who could sell me the Intellipap. So I agree get the Resmed auto set. I wen to pick up the machine and R...

Re: I'm Dreaming!
Having lots of REM sleep is not the goal for most of us.Stage 3 and 4 sleep is where the body restores itself with the release of human growth hormone. I never got to those stages because I was in REM too much and as a result was sleep deprived although I slept all night and all day if I had the cha...

Xyrem helping?
Hey how is the Xyrem working? It sounds like you go into REM sleep before you are truly asleep. I did this and was told I was having panic attacks when it was really sleep paralysis. I hear voices like a radio is on somewhere and dream even when I nap for 10 minutes. I have apnea, gerd and excessive...

Time for new cpap--any recommendations?
I am due for a new machine. I have used the Puritan Bennet Good Knight 420 E for five or six years with no problems except I could never figure out how to use the Silverlining software. Yeah, I am an good geezer that's technologically challenged. What machines that record your data are the easiest t...

I'm an occupational therapist and am sort of the cpap vigilanti. I've found that the nursing staffs in long term care are very undereducated on what sleep apnea is and how cpap works. One patient was put on oxygen and nursing thought he no longer needed his cpap. Duh. I now do home health and always...

Hybrid Universal full face mask
Can anyone give me any feedback on the hybrid mask. I have never used pillows and I'm afraid they will pop out or irritate my nose. Thanks.

I developed atrial filutter last summer and after meds didn't control it I underwent an atrial sinal node ablation to zap the offending area of the heart's electrial system. All went well until January when I though I was in A flutter again because I had all the same symptoms--fatigue, nausea, heart...

Guess I am responding just to support what the others have said. You shouldn't be on O2 if you don't need it. That in itself is irresponsible medicine. I would talk to a different vendor. I would think that Medicare would cover a night of monitoring for you if they have done it for others. Good luck.

You may have another sleep disorder like narcolepsy or excessive daytime sleepiness EDS. Most people with narcolepsy are diagnosed with OSA first. You don't have to fall asleep driving or crash on the fall unconscious to have narcolepsy. So be sure to see you sleep doc if you don't feel better soon....
