Re: CPAPs with big water tanks and powerful humidifiers?
I live at a higher elevation in Arizona with out central heating. A 60 degree room with relative humidity of 20% will suck a tank dry in 4 hours with out any leaks. In our monsoon season a tank can last 2 days. Can not blame every thing on leaks or the user

Re: CPAPs with big water tanks and powerful humidifiers?
I use a stand alone humidifier plus the machine humidifier. connect with a one foot hose. The host has them fairly cheap. Think it is made by f + p. I still get some dry mouth at near rain out. But no longer run out of water and get painful dry mouth. In cold dry weather with a cold room it is good....

medicare cut backs on CPAP ?
Saw this clip in a finacial paper. Don't know much about it The respiratory-device maker’s shares sank 6.5% after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is the federal agency that administers the health care programs, said it plans to slash reimbursements on certain equipment by an av...

High leak rate will use up a lot of water and lower the benefits of cpap. Worn out or poor fit mask?

Re: Anyone here on Testosterone Therapy?
Like i said I just started and it seems to help. But it really worries me. 1. every 20 minutes on every tv channel is an andogel commercial 2. 350$ per month for a chemical they learned to copy 50 years ago. And is a natural chemical in all animals. Must be off patent. cause it is made by a lot of c...

Re: Anyone here on Testosterone Therapy?
wanted to add the question. The SA reduces the REM sleep which reduces the T levels. But takeing the T is suppose to increse the SA. Seems to be a complex control loop?
I had thought proper pap treatment would increase the REM and T levels?

Re: Respironics APAP pressure test probes close up
Does this inflate the 90% and max. pressure it reports ?
And, how does this relates to the little red dots on the flow chart on sleepy head. I thought the red dots were the test pulse?
I have been mis reading these saw teeth.
Thanks for the help

obstructive verses central
Been on a S9 apap for a couple years. At a pressure of 14 to 18. Had a AHI below 1 with about half obstructives and half hypos. Went to a PR1 auto bipap. My AHI went up to 2 to 4. No obstuctives. All centrals with lots of flow limiting and hypo. Because it see them as centrals it does not want to ra...

Re: dirty filter cause headaches?
The filter is to protect the machine not to provide you filtered air. You breath unfiltered air all day and all your life.Your body comes with it own filtering equipment. The machine has high speed moving parts close together. A hair or particle can drag on fan shrouds, shafts, bearings and wear sea...

Re: Neti Pot Death
To answer your question. low dosage of chlorine is highly reactive to small simple bacteria. Larger organisms like amobea , giradia, etc. will go into a protective state when they sense enviromental dangers. They can form a spore with a thick shell. And it takes an extrem level of chlorine to get th...

Re: Found a Full Face Mask for High Pressures
I found this mask comes in a extra large size. Some suppliers do not stock it. Any way the extra large fit me better than the large qurtro. the extra lenght goes higher up the nose bridge, and does not hurt my nose. But it is a little wider than I need. so my cheeks have to ballon out to seal. Stupi...
