Anyone using Provigil?
I have been using Provigil for several years now. Prior to that I uses 2 other drugs (alternating) that were harder on one's liver. I use the Provigil because in addition to my apnea I have what my doctor calls "idiopathic hypersomnia". This was diagnosed with a daytime sleep study. I believe it was...

letting cpap or other medical equipment on in additon to car
Many of the airlines web sites or pamphlets state that medical equipment is not included in bag carry on count. However, when ever I bring that up at the airport I receive many blank stares and denials. Often if a smaller jet is used , which is often the case out of my home airport, the overheads ar...

In thinking more about full face masks and higher pressure I wonder if the mirage is the best choice. I like mine very much, but there is \are more leaks than with my mirage nasal mask. I wonder if the system foils itself. The mask creates it's seal by air filling the cushion. I bet high pressure ma...

The tonsils removal won't cure the OSA, but it will help. I had mine out at 27 years old. The surgery was fine, but I had to spend the night in the hospital. Since sleep studies are considered outpatien procedures this has been my only night in the hospital. It was horrible. Remember your pajamas, m...

I am a cpap user, not bipap , but my current pressure is 17. I switched back to a full face mask in December. It is an ultra mirage full face 2. I am experiencing many more leaks with the full face mask at this pressure than I did with the mirage nasal mask or my old full face mask. Sometimes a full...

All of the choices are reasons for choosing one cpap over another. I think ease of use might be another choice. How hard/easy to clean the filter, humidifier, refill the humidifier, turn on and off are more reasons to select one cpap over another.

Cpaps on TV
In and episode of Design Cents (HGTV) the other day the designers actually designed for a man with a cpap . They put it into a nightstand and cut a hold for the electric cord in the back panel. I presume the cpap was used with the front doors open. This is a trivial observation but I was just amazed...

I am currently using the mirage ff mask (3 months), and previously used the ultra mirage mask. I was suprised when I tried on the masks because I wore a shallow ultra mirage mask and it was wonderful, no leaks. But the the full face mask I needed the regular depth. Make sure you try both sizes on if...

I currently have a fisher paykel 4420 . I have had it 3 months now. It is slightly quieter, definately lighter, and smaller than my respironics RemStar choice. It has an integrated humidifier , which my Remstar didn't. But I think I still like my Remstar best. I used it for 14 years with only 1 hitc...
