Re: Nose-pinching masks?
Just fyi on my experience of pinching. I use a full face mask (Simplex) and liked using it with my red chin strap as I'm a mouth breather. I have a narrow nose bridge that allows air leakage so I usually have to tuck a little bit of seal at the bridge to tighten it up. One night I woke up gasping an...

Re: VA CPAP supply replacement schedule?
They try to supply as few as they can. The schedules are based on average usage of 4hrs a night. My tech was surprised to see mine is 8-9 hrs as I have chronic insomnia and it takes that long for 7 hrs sleep. With his support I get 1 full face a myth vs 1 per quarter. Point is they have a guide but ...

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet specific questions
Oh My.... I was asking a few technical questions and offered my opinions. My AHI is around 2 (OH! 1) so I don't consider it a problem. I have a recording OX but stopped using it after 6 mths or so of excellent readings. I figure the whole purpose of xpap is to keep the ox under control and mine is. ...

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet specific questions
Thanks folks! I changed the setting to true average and it's great. Love that Sleepyhead!! You should have seen the look by the tech when I pulled out my report . I suspect I have better software they they do. Deep down I don't mind sharing a bit as long as they are willing to listen and ask questio...

"you can't change what the machine shows you, but you can change the readout in sleepyhead."
I have SH 1.0.0 beta 2. How do you change the readout?

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet specific questions
I "think I remember" seeing that in SH for my Respironics machines. I'm using SH 1.0.0 Beta-2 and cannot see it. Doesn't mean it's not there but it's like looking for my socks (yeah I'm old - so what!). As for the backup power, I have on that worked very well when I had an external HC-150 humidifier...

ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet specific questions
After years of Respironics my VA retired the last one (14k hours and becoming flaky) for a new ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet. Love this machine and have a "couple" questions about what is going on behind the settings. Under Comfort I have Response with Regular and Soft. I switched to Soft as the machin...

Re: full face mask
Mask has to seal to face (obvious). 1.) Face has to be clean where contacting seal. Anything that is slippery (oils, creams, etc.) encourages mask slippage and leaks. 2.) Mask seal has to be free from anything slippery. I keep a pump dispenser of 1/4 liquid detergent (Joy/Dawn), wet mask and very ge...

Of course don't forget to un-protect the card before re-installing it or it won't get your new data.

Re: Mouthguard for a Chomper?
A wrap up..... I received my "Vital Sleep" mouth guard used it even awake and reading to get used to it and adjusted the jaw forward. However it didn't work for me. 1. The principle is to pull to lower jaw forward by shortening the distance between the back lower teeth and the upper front teeth like...

Re: Mouthguard for a Chomper?
Yeah I thought about that Stormy. My concern is that I an a genetic insomniac and take sleep meds. If I chewed through on I may choke to death and not wake up. The thing I just bought is hinged at the back and I don't think it can be dangerous. https://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-29850754929869/mou...

Re: Mouthguard for a Chomper?
Thanks for the replies so far. 1. I'm big on oral hygiene, Chunky, especially with mouth wounds. I'm over 70 and never had a cavity and teeth are solid. I manage the bite wounds with Listerine and salt plus Cank-Aid when needed. 2. Glad you're still around Jim! No false teeth or they'd be out for su...

Mouthguard for a Chomper?
I cannot keep from chomping chunks out of my cheeks while sleeping and the loud "SNAP" and resulting blood flow over the years has to stop. Today I ordered the "Vital Sleep" mouth guard which is supposed to keep my lower jaw forward. It has a money back thing if I don't like it and have chosen the "...
