Re: I just fired my DME

Yes you would think so. Apria are insisting that the insurance company never purchased it outright - even though as you said I made copays for over a year and they charged me a bunch of other fees after that too. Should I call my insurance to see what exactly is the situation regarding who owns the ...

Re: I just fired my DME

And so what are you doing for your OSA and CPAP therapy now? Or did you cut your nose off to spite your face? I did that in the late 90's. Felt good at the time to let them know what I thought of them .... but 10 years later I ended up starting on CPAP again and then being switched to a bi-level. I...

I just fired my DME

........and it feels so good. After 2 years and getting gouged by them with their so called "maintenance fees" for my CPAP unit. I told them they were a big shower of money grabbing, low down, no good f**#ing c**ts and could rot in hell. I have to give back the unit of course - they can shove that u...

Nose Hairs

Ok, a bit of an oddball question here I know, but what's the thinking on nose hair - to cut or not to cut? I tend to get quite a bit and so end up cutting it for cosmetic reasons. However, we do have nose hair for a reason - to help filter out all the nasty bugs that we breathe in - so cutting may n...

Re: Frustrated - Lost

Hi Alpha. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your therapy. I haven't read all of the replies to your post so my advice may be redundant. It's great that you're taking control of this. It's the type of thing where you need to be active and conscientious in your approach in order to see improvem...

Re: C-Pap use during a severe cold

I can say from having a terrible cold about 6 weeks ago, that using CPAP while suffering from a cold is next to impossible. My nose was so congested that breathing under any circumstances was difficult, let alone with a CPAP mask on. Try theraflu severe cold remedy for some relief. Good luck.

Melatonin helps me

Just thought I would share my experiences with CPAP over the last few months. I had been having problems with going for a full night on CPAP for some time. I'd wake up around 3 a.m almost every night and have difficulty falling back to sleep. There were no technical issues with the CPAP, so it appea...

Re: Trazadone as a sleep aid

Thank you for the replies. It seems to be having a good effect. I take it (50 mg) about 30 minutes before bedtime and I can get to sleep within about 10 minutes of lights out. It really shuts down my brain which would ordinarily be racing through a million different thoughts and preventing me from s...

Trazadone as a sleep aid

Has anyone used trazadone as a sleep aid while on CPAP? I've just been prescribed some to help with anxiety associated with wearing the mask. Hopefully it will help me drift off a bit more easily.

Re: Switching from nasal to FFM

I am using an UMFF/small and a Quattro/small. MUCH better fit. I am used to both now. I sometimes wake up and don't realize that I have it on or that I am breathing w/it. I am very happy to say that w/a ffm, my cpap life is very good.[/quote] That's good to hear. How long did it take for you to real...

Switching from nasal to FFM

Hi there. I have just switched masks form a respironics nasal comfortgel (medium size) to a resmed mirage ultra FFM (medium standard). I'd been having on and off problems with nasal congestion and mouth breathing for the last 6 months since starting on CPAP. So I decided to go for the full face mask...

Re: Having MUCH difficulty keeping this mask on my face, HELP!

Can ANYONE help me? I have tried three different masks and I am STILL having difficulty keeping this thing on at night. Is there anything anyone can tell me? I have OSA and they tell me it is due to my being overweight. Which is fine, because I am having Gastric Bypass Surgery to deal with that iss...

Re: Anyone interested in exchanging masks?

Phil - most people would be a little apprehensive about trying previously used masks - nothing against you - it would just be a little risky
My two cents

cheers - that''ll save me wasting 40 bucks to try it out - although I would like to see what what my AHI is at after six months on CPAP . Maybe I'll upgrade at some point. quote="Hawthorne"]The reader and software would be no use to you if it is an M Series Plus machine. The only data that machine g...
