Slightly off topic - Reverse Apnea
Hi All, I've been up now since 3 am, it's now 4:18 am and I doubt I'll get any additional sleep. I got 3 hours the night before (using apap) Sure, I just had 2 cups of coffee about 30 minutes ago, then a cup of tea, and some crackers and peanut butter - and frankly, I'm exhausted and dying to sleep....

Re: Travelling with CPAP tomorrow - Opinions/Suggestions Sought
thanks! between my broken foot, my cpap machine, and my computer and electronics gear, i'll probably only need 3 hours for the check in (domestic flight) - can't wait! although the backup machine is puffing away as we speak, i think i will bring my main machine (and humidifier), my main mask, and th...

Re: Poll re PurSleep Rebranding
Bret, good luck if you change the name. i previously commented to you how great the logo and branding are - hopefully if you change you can keep most of the graphics, etc. i punched in the top 5 new names i could think of - and saw they each have very nice websites! so good luck in that arena as wel...

Travelling with CPAP tomorrow - Opinions/Suggestions Sought
Hi All, Tomorrow's my first business trip as a hose head. I bought a spare machine for just such an occurance (and in case my primary broke) but when i first fired it up i noticed a cigarette smoke smell (just about 60 hours on the thing too - shucks!) so after reading the forum, i sprayed a tissue ...

Re: Primary Care Physician wants me to get second opinion
JNK, many thanks. one thing i found out "by accident" is that i have a deviated septum - first visit to ENT (when i asked for apap machine) he didn't say anything - but after last visit, i saw my report (in my file which he had me bring to his scheduling person) and it said i have a deviated septum ...

Re: where to buy a resmed serial adapter ?
FWIW i have the USB adapter on sale at cpapauction.com - priced at $60 plus shipping. i had to get it from australia, cost something like $75 plus shipping - couldn't find it in the states! i saw you want to do real time monitoring - i don't believe you can do that without the reslink adapter, whic...

Primary Care Physician wants me to get second opinion
Hi All, I had a physical friday, and surprinsingly, my primary care physician (who scripted me for my sleep study, and is of the mindset that i should have surgery for the OSA), was surprised (and i think annoyed) that the ENT i went to didn't want to cut - the ENT kept pulling out the BMI index and...

Lifespan of Swift LT Pillow
Hi All, I know references have been made before, and i thought about starting a poll - does anyone know the lifespan for one of these pillows? i'm about 6 weeks into my mask (my first) and i'm at least imagining more leaks. i believe medicaire (which i should be eligible for in 25 years!) offers a n...

Re: Autoset II vs. M - Series A/Flex
i haven't tried the respironics. i read somewhere that the autoset will look at your last 5 breaths as part of it's algorithm. once in the rare while i have troulbe initially falling asleep (staying alseep is another story), i'll take really short breaths, about 6 or 7, then go for a slow, long one ...

Re: Venting of Swift LT
i haven't tried the others - i will say the swift lt will blow on my arm if i sleep on my side. you can rotate the hose (vent at back of hose - there's an "L" bend) so you can rotate up and down (not sure if it makes a difference) my wife rolls to her side to escape the air (but she says it is far b...

Re: Efficacy data increasing
hi - it is my belief the efficacy data is the 95th percentile pressure for the day - so if i went from 11 to 13 my median pressure is increasing (unless someone corrects me) i set my lower range to 10.2 (i think) and the upper all the way to 20 - i think i popped into 16 maybe once in 1 month - othe...

Re: Sinus troubles
Could the humidity be too high? can there be rainout going in your nose? (the dripping made me think of that). have you tried nasal rinses? i bought the neilmed nasal rinse (about $12 from CVS) and have used it about 15 times so far - i don't love it, but i like the concept. you can drip for a while...

Re: Feeling Fraudlike
Unless i'm reading the results wrong, your pressure is at 9.8 95% of the time - as your machine is set for 10, you're near your max most of the time - i'd question if you need to raise the upper end of your pressure. if you were constantly floating at the lower level of 5%, i would opine that you ne...
