Re: Lost weight, need help
God is punishing you for losing all that weight without my persmission and telling us how you did it. The fiance and I are using the "I Can Make You Thin" program by Paul Mckenna. I lost 30 and he lost 45lbs. We kinda fell off the wagon for a while (about 2 months) and are starting it back up again...

Re: Lost weight, need help
You said that your doctor is not close. Is your DME also far? Just thinking you could ask your doctor to order a two week trial on an autopap to reassess your pressure needs. If it is far, ask if they'd be willing to ship it to you. If you do pursue this this, ask the doctor to not start your press...

Re: Lost weight, need help
Apart from the wt loss, your face will have changed (more so than you can tell by looking), so you might need to readjust your mask or even think about either a different size or another one entirely. And maybe find a way to help some of that stress, like meditating etc. I did have to tighten my ma...

Re: Lost weight, need help
I lost 60 lbs and my pressure went from 9 down to 5 so it could very well be since you have lost weight you need less pressure. I have a APAP so I was able to set my minimum pressure lower and lower until I found it more comfy. You could just experiment with lowering the pressure a little at a time...

Lost weight, need help
How do you know if your pressure is too high? I lost 32 pounds over the last 9 months. I slept like a baby when my pressure was readjusted to 10 around the same time I decided to work on losing weight. Over the past month, I haven't been sleeping that well. I wake up 3-4 times a night and I feel mor...

Re: Seeking insight from mild and/or younger apnea sufferers
I haven't posted here in a very long time. (College obligations). However, I am 23 and was diagnosed about 7 months ago with very mild sleep apnea. I was getting only about 9 episodes per hour. I was titrated with an original pressure of 6 and just recently (2 weeks ago) was re-titrated to a pressur...

Re: Neck pain
I had this exact same problem. Unfortunately, the only thing that worked for me (I've tried many things!) was to switch to a mask that doesn't have neck straps. The back straps were cutting into my neck too much. I now use the Swift LT for her (there is a regular one for men too) and that has helped...

Re: Mouth taping issues.
I do curl my lips in already and yes, I run a heated humidifier. I couldn't use my nasal pillows without it!nobody wrote:Curl your lips in a bit before putting the tape on, sometimes that helps. Do you run a heated humidifier?

Mouth taping issues.
I did a search but didn't really find my exact problem. I have resorted to taping my mouth shut at night. That's all fine and dandy. However, I am wondering how you all are able to keep the tape on all night? In the middle of the night, I wake up to me sucking in air through my mouth and my tape has...

Re: neck pain?
I just went through this whole ideal. I sleep on my side and the bottom straps of my mask were cutting into the back of my neck. It took a lot of experimenting and sleeping a few nights without XPAP at all to figure this out. I had to switch to a mask that doesn't have straps that wrap around my nec...

A little update and a thank you.
I just wanted to give out a huge thank you to the folks that suggested the Mirage Swift LT for Her Nasal Pillow mask! I love it. It's so comfortable, light, and it seals like a charm. I've used it for three nights now and no more neck pain! There are a few problems still. Such as I'm still getting u...

I agree with this! Very quiet! If only my window A/C was the same way. That thing is a beast.jdm2857 wrote: I can tell you that the ResMed S8 II machines are very quiet. Mine is about 18" from my head and it never bothers me. And neither do its soft green lights.

Re: I had a realization, need mask advice please.
I'm not so sure about sticking things up my nose. Are nasal pillow masks comfortable? I have DJD in my cervical spine. I have a 4 1/2 inch titanium plate in my neck. I had headaches from my neck long before sleep apnea reared its ugly head. I understand about the bottom strap of any mask. For me it...

Re: I had a realization, need mask advice please.
krazykchan, I also developed a simular problem with my right shoulder as I slept on my left side and also woke up with a stiff neck each morning. I used to take a couple of Advil before going to bed and this eased my pain a lot. I did find that when I changed from a nasal mask to a nasal pillow mas...
