Re: Septoplasty or Not
After 10 years of CPAP use, I found I have not be able to tolerate treatment. CT scan showed a severely deviated septum. ENT pointed out enlarged turbinates and tonsils. 8 weeks ago, I had a septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and my tonsils removed. 1st week of recovery was tough. Now, I have no cong...

Re: Adjusting to the Airfit P10
mdintx, have you tried the different sizes of pillows? I found they make a difference. I can't use the small. The medium feels the best, but if I am at all congested, I find the exhale resistance too high and I hear a whistling sound - although my wife doesn't hear it. The large feels good and I do...

Re: Adjusting to the Airfit P10
The pressure seems higher on the Airfit, especially on exhalation. I've developed tinnitus since switching from Swift. I'm thinking it may be related to the mask. For now, I'm switching back to the Swift to see if things improve. I'm not sure why the pressure seems higher as it should be regulated ...

Re: Adjusting to the Airfit P10
Maybe you are just sleeping deeper and you aren't used to it. I would give it a little time. I know I am not waking up with leaks nearly as much and that is very good for me. You know, I've considered that. I am sleeping through the night. For the last 5 years, my numbers have always been good rega...

Re: Adjusting to the Airfit P10
Leaks are ok though I'm not sure on what the numbers should be as my machine is the S8. With the S8 machine you want to shoot for leak numbers less than 0.40 L/Sec....your machine reports in liters per second and the S9 machines (and ResScan) report in liters per minute. In liters per minute ResMed...

Adjusting to the Airfit P10
Long time no post. I've been using the Aloha nasal pillow mask for some time. It has worked reasonably well. I generally felt rested but moisture build up on the pillows was often a frustration that frequently woke me in the middle of the night. I gave the Swift FX a try but couldn't get it to seal....

Re: Any Dallas-area recommendations for sleep doctor and DME?
For a sleep doctor, I see Dr. Ostranksy in Southlake: http://www.northtexaslungandsleepclinic.com/ He's been great to me and the people I've sent to him. He works with a company called Medigy. I got the machine and first couple of masks from them. I've gotten the remainder of my supplies from cpap.c...

How about the Gecko Nasal Pad?

It would add some girth to your nose and provide a barrier as well. I used it successfully with the Mirage SoftGel.

Re: Problem with Aloha pillows
I don't have a barrel cozy. I will just use hose cover I have and draw it up further and see how it goes. If it helps, I may go a head and get a barrel cozy. I didn't have this problem with the Swift LT or the Opus 360 using the hose cover so I'm hopeful that will fix things. Otherwise, I may go bac...

Re: Problem with Aloha pillows
Well, it was much worse with the large pillows. Leak was up to .12 and I had .8 AI whereas a I normally have .0 or .1. I woke up with fatigue and a solid headache
I think I'm going back to the medium but using a hose cover as far up as possible. Let's see how that goes....

Problem with Aloha pillows
Hey Folks, I've made the decision to return to using nasal pillows to eliminate the bridge soreness I'd been experiencing. I've used the Swift LT and Opus 360 in the past. Due to the great reviews, I've been giving the Aloha a try. Overall, it's been working well. I feel a lot better in the mornings...

Re: Side sleeping with Quattro FX
Thanks for all your suggestions. Unfortunately, this mask is not going to work for me. It injures the right side of my nose even when using a barrier. I think I'm going to have to work at making the Quattro my FFM.

Do you run your CPAP with a humidifier? If so, I wonder if turning it down or running without might dry things up a bit.

Re: Side sleeping with Quattro FX
Howdy fellow Texan! I'm using the Liberty hybrid currently but looking at getting a Quattro FX as I did the CPAP Library 1-week trial with one and got excellent results and found it to be very comfortable. Did you view the fitting videos describing the "swing and seal" technique? If I followed that...
