Re: SEVERE Apnea affecting mental functioning??? Please Help!
Yes, Blackspinner all that is true... I was suffering from narrowmindedness. I was just remembering my experience that I get bad morning headaches when I am sleep deprived or my cpap isn't working for me.

If he wakes up with a bad headache, that is a sign that his therapy is not working. Maybe he should see the doctor again that is handling his OSA therapy.

Re: Morning Leakage?
I too have had leaks at 4-5AM. My opinion is that part of what is happening is that our bodies become dehydrated and the skin shrinks. I too don't believe in the "floating" mask theory. I think that what also is happening is that when I am getting into REM sleep, the muscles relax more, and then, my...

Re: Flonase use and nosebleeds!
I was using flonase a couple years ago, and had a nose bleed one time (not severe). I told the nurse about it, and she told me I wasn't doing it right. She told me to insert the tip into each nostril and aim it towards the corresponding ear. My guess is that they don't want the spray to go far into ...

Has anyone considered that a topic, when people stop replying, will move down to the next page? There are always 50 currently active (by replies) topics on page 1 of the forum. I went to page 2 a moment ago, and counted 20 more topics that were "last posted to" today. Below that are topics dated yes...

Try simethicone, the main ingredient in Gas-X. I buy it at CVS. 80mg tablets. A couple of those will ease the bloated feeling in the stomach. Then you fart out the gas tomorrow (painlessly).

Re: Does CPAP give gases?
If the gas in your stomach causes pain and discomfort, the remedy is simethicone. It is the active ingredient in Gas-X. Search the popular drug stores for the non-name brand tablets, usually 80mg. A few of these when you feel the bloating in the stomach, will help ease the discomfort. However, the g...

Re: Respironics power connector
Assuming that you know how to solder: I just measured the plug on the back of my M series. It looks like a 5.5mm outside diameter, with 2.5mm inner hole diameter. You can get these from online electronic part suppliers like Digikey, Mouser, Newark Electronics. Digikey [url] http://search.digikey.com...

Re: Can Deviated Septum Cause Hypopneas?
I don't have an "official" answer, but I believe that a ds is MY problem. I went to an ENT doctor, and he wanted to put a scope through my nose, to look down my throat at the voicebox. The tube was probably the thickness of a pencil. He put it in my left nostril, then pulled it out and said he could...

Do a search for CPAP on Seattle craigslist. I just did, and came up with 22 hits. Used machines from $50, up.

Re: Suddenly Swallowing Air
I have never tried Beano, but I read on wiki-pedia, that it does alter the the chemistry of the digestion of natural sugars. My experience is that I get air pumped into my stomach which gives me a bloated uncomfortable feeling in my abdomen. I take a simethicone tablet, which is the the active ingre...

Re: OxiMeter Latency
You might be able to approximate the number of beats that your spo2 value lags behind, by observing the display and sticking your finger in and out of the sensor. See how long it takes to show a number after putting in your finger, or drop to 0 (on removing finger).
