Re: Nasal mask without full headgear?
I use the Nasal Aire II with no headgear and it works great for me. It's a nasal prong mask rather than nasal pillows and it did take some getting used to (the correct size prong is the one larger than you think at first). I use the elastic ring shaped like an "8" along with a cheap athletic wrist b...

Re: Machine Stopped Recording Data
It would probably cost more than its worth to try to fix it. M series machines are fairly common on craigslist. Are you wanting to get a new(er) model machine with all the new data and SD card and software? Or do you just want to be able to check the onscreen data every now and then? Secondwindcpap...

Machine Stopped Recording Data
My Remstar Auto M Series machine has been working just fine until a few weeks ago it stopped displaying data. The AHI, number of sessions, etc. all started showing 0s for the current day, and eventually the averages have gone to 0s as well. I took the machine into the ever (un)helpful DME and the RT...

Re: CPAP and Night cough Attacks
I just got over a very long horrible cough, so I can totally sympathize! I found that turning my humidifier up really helped. Without the humidifier up, the air just dried my throat too much and I'd start coughing. In addition, my MD suggested Cepacol lozenges which really helped to numb up my throa...

Re: Seeking insight from mild and/or younger apnea sufferers
I was just hoping to hear some positive responses from people in a situation similar to mine. Most of the people I see on these boards appear to be at a different stage in life so I was hoping to hear a situation I could relate to. I am 30, on CPAP for approximately 7 months now. I did feel like yo...

Re: Nasal Aire II leak rates
It took me about three weeks or so to get past the sore nostrils, but boy was it worth it! I used saline gel to soothe my nose in the meantime.

Re: Isn't my rx mine to have?
Wow. That's horrible. Maybe try this - tell them that you need a full copy of the prescription to carry with you and the machine when you travel (My DME specifically insisted that I do this to show TSA just in case). I always tuck my Rx into the CPAP bag just in case. Also, tell them you want to kee...

Re: Seeking insight from mild and/or younger apnea sufferers
Mine is mild-moderate. I didn't feel the "night and day" difference from CPAP that some of my friends with more severe apnea described. What I noticed was that after a few weeks I no longer told my coworkers that I was exhausted at 4pm like I used to, and I felt more alert driving home at night. I a...

Re: Nasal Aire II leak rates
Does anyone have a link to the Nasal Aire II leak rate chart? I can't view the images of it that were previously linked in this thread. Thanks!

Re: new mask
I use the Nasal Aire II and love it. It takes a while to get "desensitized" to the nasal prongs, during which time your nostrils can be sore/raw (use saline gel and stick with it). Once I got through that period, I haven't had any problems. I wear the mask without headgear and still have excellent r...

Tired, light headed and dizzy?
Hi all, I tried to search to see if this has previously been covered with no luck, but sorry if I missed a thread on point. I've been on CPAP for approximately 6 months with good results until the last two weeks. Recently, even though I've been using my CPAP every night as usual, I wake up really ti...

Re: Thanks for the help!
When I started CPAP I noticed the same thing - I didn't remember any dreams at all, except when I took a trip and slept in a hotel (with my CPAP) I had exceptionally vivid dreams. No dreams when I went back home, though. I mentioned it to my sleep doc who told me the same thing rested gal says - if ...

Re: Need Feedback on Nasal Aire II Nasal Prong Mask
I've used the nasal aire II for the past three months or so and I love it. I've tried a couple of different configurations, but now wear it without headgear. I roll in my sleep (and sleep on my back, sides and stomach) so it's much better for me than other masks that would restrict my sleeping posit...

Re: Allergic to cpap headgear
I have the same allergy (derm says it's an allergy to "rubber") - after the first night wearing my headgear I had a raised, itchy red strip across my forehead. I had to go to my derm and get some cream plus take antihistamines to get the hives down. I made myself some covers for my tubing, etc. from...
