Re: C-Pap Cleaning Machine
I've been on a cpap for about 12 years, I still have my original machine that I use for camping and travel now. During that time, my cpap's have been with me through annual colds & flues. In all that time, I've never cleaned a cpap. For that matter, I used to clean the masks and hoses daily, after a...

Re: OT - Jar Opener
Have you tried an opener that releases the vaccuum. Lee Valley has one for less that $15 that hooks on one side of the lid. You press down on the end of the leaver to release the vacuum. it makes the jars easier to open with out the suction.

Re: How do you know if your mask is too tight?
There are some masks that actually seal better when they are loose rather than tight. I'm not familiar with the wisp but the F&P masks that I use have an air bladder that seals better when it has some room to inflate.

Re: Distilled water machine for cpap?
I have used filters in the past, everything from cheap carbon filters to high end RO filters. The costs for the filters on a system that worked got a little expensive and the RO system used quiet a bit of water as well. About 4 years ago, I picked up a home water distiller from Sears and it works gr...

Re: Therapy while sleeping or awake
All I'm trying to figure out is how long I am actually sleeping at night. I think I initially fall asleep fairly quickly, however when I wake up I keep the mask on while I try and fall back asleep. At time it feels like I spend more time trying to fall back to sleep than actually sleeping but my per...

Re: Therapy while sleeping or awake
I think II'm really trying to figure out if the recorded data will show any difference when sleeping or awake.

Therapy while sleeping or awake
Lately I have been having trouble sleeping and was wondering if any cpap machines can tell when your sleeping or awake and waiting to fall asleep.

bwexler and I have the same cleaning routine with the exception of the dishwasher. I would never subject my water chamber to the dirty water and germs in my dishwasher.

Re: Should I get a new machine in 2018?
I use my "new" (2012) machine that I leave at home and have my original "2005" Remstar Tank that I still use for all sleep when Im not at home such as hotels and camping. I used to have another Remstar Brick Tank that I left in the trunk of my car for years for unexpected overnight stays. I was alwa...

Re: Odd Problem
I had something similar happen to me after a couple of years of using a full face mask. I ripped a seal one night and only had an old nasal mask. That was about 10 years ago and i've been using a nasal mask ever since with no ill effects.

Re: TSA and CPAPs
For the last year or so, when I've flown in Canada I've been asked to put the cpap in a bin by itself for scanning. Occasionally they will swab it for explosives as well. When I asked about it, I was told that the cpap was an electronic device and treated the same as a computer.

Re: PR System 1 60 Series DC Cord
Thanks for the info on the dell connector. I couldn't find one before i left but managed to use a small inverter and generator to recharge the beats during the day. I see an add on KIJIJI for a older dell power supply so I should be rocking soon.

PR System 1 60 Series DC Cord
I just found out that my travel machine is missing and i"m going camping this weekend. As I'm in Canada, I don't have time to get a 12v dc adapter from our hosts and the local DME's want over $100 for one. If I can find out the name of the connector, I can build one for less than $10. Does anyone kn...
