Re: Elderly Couple Without Power....
I am not tech savvy but it seems that if AEP would drop most of the late charges then someone who is knowledgeable could start a GoFundMe for these two to pay off the remainder and get them back in their home and on CPAP before they both die. I would contribute what I could. What do you think? Feist...

Re: Re-Diagnosed, Already in a Dilemma. Advice?
Very many of us have a handful of centrals just on falling asleep and then just before awakening... nothing to worry about at all, only if you have lots of them throughout the night, especially in large clusters, should you question anything. Julie, my ignorance is global! I really should have lear...

Re: Re-Diagnosed, Already in a Dilemma. Advice?
Some weeks I dread going to bed because it is suffering to choke, wake, gasp, struggle to breathe, feel my airway collapsing, and have arrhythmia that makes me weak throughout the days No doubt you have apnea but the reason that this only happens "some weeks" is that this may not be apnea, but refl...

Re: Re-Diagnosed, Already in a Dilemma. Advice?
Pugsy, you took so much time and energy explaining all this to me. Thank you so much. I see now I jumped the gun and should have taken time to read all the latest info on the site and get educated before panicking. I'm going to take every bit of your advice. I owe you big time. Am printing this and ...

Re: Re-Diagnosed, Already in a Dilemma. Advice?
In order to qualify for an asv through insurance your central apneas need to be greater than 50% of your total apneas. I don't see this in the numbers you posted. Most of the time centrals show up when someone is on a cpap or bipap machine during a titration. Some folks that have a few centrals do ...

Re-Diagnosed, Already in a Dilemma. Advice?
The Forum helped out my husband Silverthreads several years ago and now I'm here for advice for me. I am newly diagnosed (last time was probably in 2000. The wind tunnel effect and no humidifier were my waterloo). Tried my husband's pulmonologist who said if I thought I had apnea, I didn't. He said ...

Re: pain in chest after using cpap, anyone else have this prob
Your soreness very well could be muscles getting a workout they haven't had before but (not to alarm you at all) just as a caution, please do get checked out. We had assumed my husband's chest heaviness and soreness was from the Centrals he was having, but it turned out that the chest symptoms were ...

Re: Sample ResScan Report for VPAP Adapt SV
John, thank you for posting these results and reports. I am truly "in the egg" and your info and the discussions you generate with the others who are in-the-know, while completely over my head, still teach me a lot and I'm grateful they're here on the Forum for reference -- for us as well as for any...

Re: Adapt SV Newbie Questions
John, does it help? Does it ever! I'm so relieved to have some input instead of flying by the seat of my pants here. You addressed every single one of my concerns, and that took a ton of work. Silver will be so happy to find a printout of your posts by his supper plate tonight. We are deeply gratefu...

Re: BiPAP ASV - Backup Power Question
John, just had a chance to get back online and found this wonderful info. Thank you thank you thank you! I wish I could get one and get it set up before this winter storm hits tonight. Hope you get yours and are well fixed as your pressure needs are a good deal greater than Silver's, and he feels to...

Re: BiPAP ASV - Backup Power Question
Well, the battery guide from ResMed says a modified sine wave inverter will work: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documents/service_support/battery_guide/19825_battery-guide_glo_eng.pdf See the top of page 7. Just be certain the heated humidifier is turned OFF. Then it can act as a passover humidif...

Montana you are great to try to help your patients so much. This info from you will save a lot of people grief and money. Wish it were compatible with the ResMed machine Silver uses.

[quote="dsm"]Must admit I don't know what one is ?
Will take a look - must be good & if it can stop leaks on an SV machine, doubly so [quote]
DSM, unfortunately I think we still have a ton of leaks! I have another post below. Thanks for any info you can give!

Re: BiPAP ASV - Backup Power Question
SWS said Neither your BiPAP autoSV nor your HC150 require a pure sine wave inverter. So the above modified sine wave inverter will work just fine powering both with the above two-step AC configuration. Total run time with those introduced inverter inefficiencies remains to be seen... . SWS, my husba...

Silver uses a PapCap and that stopped all his mouth leaks. He absolutely loves the PapCap.
