Re: New Resmed Airsense 10 making wheezing noise on inhaling

I remembered that I had "washed" the humidifier because I forgot to fill it and running it dry gets it ganky. When you open up the humidifier, there's a silicone based seal between the top and the bottom. If that seal is not set correctly, air leaks out and causes that wheezing. Open up the humidif...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

I’m so glad I read this thread, as I was about to leap in and buy, as the machine looked like the answer to my prayers for travel. I don’t know why the machine cannot be made available without the humidification gadget. And the proprietary hose thing is also something that grates on me. After having...

Re: Preparing for your own death

I know what you're going thru Eric. I had my tonsils out in my early forties and what turned out to be "routine", ended up in a week in intensive care and the closest I have come to seeing "the other side". It is hard, but you can get thru it. Minute by minute... and the pain (make sure you get the ...

Re: masks for side sleepers

I find the swift fx to be a rare one that allows me to side sleep comfortably.

The Pilairo was probably better in having fewer leaks, but for me was not as comfortable.

Re: Replace Machine Time

I'm at that stage too - just wondering whether anyone has fond the F&P Icon to be in the same league as the Resmed/Respironics auto machines.

Why I ask is that the price is significantly more bearable.

Re: How Many Of Us Actually LIKE PAP ?

After some 4 years, even though i haven't yet achieved my ideal, I wouldn't want to be without it.

I'm kind of used to not feeling like I'm choking in my sleep... It's the little things one learns to appreciate as one gets older...

Am a little worried about whether it will be as good as I have heard it to be.

Re: All Sleep Professionals Should be “Tased”

Tasing could be quite appropriate for some... Or even an electric cattle prod, judiciously applied.

On the other hand, there are probably a number of patients who could be equally deserving...

Re: Resmed S9 compared to its previous model

JMelby's post is a great summary. As someone who has also had both, I can say that the s9 is a 2013 Mercedes, whereas the s8 was the 1999 Mercedes. Both great in their time, but I'd rather have the latest, as the difference (in improvements) is so very noticeable. I've got to say though that I think...

Aw, come on, folks! Give Sonyat a break! As I picked out, copied and posted the excerpts from the IntelliPAP Standard page I could easily understand how he/she misunderstood. Even Johnny has stated that he sees how it could be confusing and will be changing the info. I know I had a difficult time w...

Re: weight gain with Cpap??

I remember reading that some people gained weight once their OSA was treated, because without CPAP they spent the nights thrashing themselves out of obstructive events, but with CPAP their sleep became more restful. So the answer is yes some people do gain weight when cpap therapy starts. This is e...

Re: nasal pillow 4 side sleeping???????

I have tried the Optilife and after a couple of months of trying to break it in, my nostrils lost that battle...

For me, I found the Resmed Swift FX to be the best, and least intrusive, nasal pillow mask for side sleeping.

Re: Resmed™ S9 Climateline hose durability

Useful information to know thanks Uncle Bob.

It will be interesting to see if they simply issue new replacements to those who already have the machines, or, whether they just do so to those that come in from the field.

Re: Regarding the PR System One Algorithm?

I have both an S9 and PR1. I use the S9 as my primary machine. I also had an S8 as my first machine. I know that A-flex and EPR are highly subjective things. It took me several nights to get used to the S9. For me, the A-flex felt more natural. However, I adore the silence of the S9. I do not like t...
