Re: Dreamwear mask problem
I think this mask might be counterfeit. The joint between the cushion and the snap in part seems made differently than the OE philips one. is this possible?

HI folks So I'm due for a new mask and the best one for me have been the Philips Dreamwear one i'm using now. No sooner did I say out loud that it's time for a new one that this one came disconnected at the nose pillow piece on one side in the middle of the night and I was able to just pop it back t...

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Well I indeed got my own room. Is that what you're asking? (he's laughing now that I reminded him of the story. He says he could still hear me even in his room across the hall). "your getting your own room at the hotel." After he says that saving a few bucks is good and would turn out letting you ge...

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Was going on a trip with the boss. we get along pretty well. the day before we leave he says hey we can save some money and we can share a hotel room... I said I snore, probably not a good idea (this was pre Cpap) but he relented. saving a few bucks is important to him when someone's watching So we ...

Re: Going on a cruise in January
learned a tip from an airline worker the last time I flew and thought this thread would attract the people that could use the tip. Freeze your water. wrap it a thick layer of newspaper and they will let it through security. the ban on liquids is .. a ban on liquids. ice is not a liquid and also beca...

Re: Vinegar to clean hose and tank
Wonder if I'm the only one that only cleans his stuff once or twice a year I use alcohol? I found that it doesn't really get dirty unless it gets very wet from having the humidifier too high?

Re: Camping?
Thanks for all your sugestions folks. the battery life esimates are very helpfull. I will equip the camper with 2 batteries 100AH heach and should be good to go (this has to run the furnace too). I'll be able to recharge from the vehicle if needed but I think It should be fine anyway. I'll have an e...

Camping?
Fitting out a new camper now for winter camping in a national park. we won't have hook ups where we are going so I'll need at least 3 days on batteries only. my delema is that the unit with heater draws too much current and to use an inverter is a huge waste of battery so I'm wondering if I can use ...

Re: prescriptions
Well you have to have a machine already for that, which means you already have a prescription right? If your PSG showed few to no centrals, then why imagine you suddenly have any? Plus, if you're using the software, even though centrals are not recorded directly, you can tell if everything else is g...

Re: Marks on the Face
I get them but i'm not concerned... if someone points it out I tell them I fell asleep on the bar-b-que or something... it's none of their business anyway. but I found out what I was doing to cause it which might be of interest to you. When I sleep I am rubbing my face along the pillow which tighten...

Re: prescriptions
Lots of stuff is FDA approved and doesn't requre a prescription. The only other thing I can think of is that CPAP does nothing for central apnea and how is a lay person to tell which they have? if they have both they may only be fooling themselves into thinking thier self treatment is working then t...

Re: prescriptions
It's not a problem really. but the same thing could be acheived by someone using trial and error no? If a person was really lost couldn't a nurse or other manufacturer certified person help you with that ? I think the Governments (medical establishment) this this is a way more wide spread problem th...

I wonder why it's necessary to have a prescription to buy these machines. I've never seen any warnings that they are a hazard? why would you not just be able to buy one like a curling iron? (seems more hazardous to me than this) What can happen?

Re: plastics in humidifier and tubing
I'm always leary of the chemicals used in things we interact with all day long. MY thinking is though, that if something is made of plastic and is not essential then I don't need it. I prefer glass/steel/stainless/wood/paper to Plastic/teflon/aluminum in anything to do with food or packaging for exa...
