Re: first night with cpap a total failure - what now?

When I first started my PAP journey in 2010 I got amazing help from Roby Sue and Pugsy. On the list of things I have learned here, is that is helpful to find a way to hang your hose above you. There are many different hose hangers available from CPAP.com and Amazon. Some can be placed under you matt...

Re: Does actual benefit matter in Medicare CPAP compliance?

I have no idea who or where my "Sleep Center" or Sleep Doctor" is. It has been several years since I visited one. The last two I visited I saw a PA. I wouldn't recognize the Doctor if he bit me. Any actual advice I have received from an SD turned out to be the opposite of what actually worked. So fo...

Re: Mask Replacement Schedule

I absolutely follow my DME's recommendations for replacement, UNLESS I FORGET.
I don't remember ever going more then 18 months on a mask, or a couple or 3 years on a hose or water chamber.

By the way, what year is this.

Who is your supplier?
I don't remember any supplier adjusting my machine. Of course it has been about 12 years since I got a machine from a supplier. I bought my last 2 machines used from members here. Neither of those individuals have ever attempted to access my machine.

Re: Company still charging me after 12 months

Many insurance companies have a perpetual rental, never own. If you change insurance you start fresh. You must read the details in the EOC, Evidence of Coverage. That is the only thing you can believe. Than you must highlight the important parts and wave it under the nose of the people you need to c...

Re: Diagnosed by Lofta: How to choose first mask to try?

My wife was new to PAP last Christmas. Against the persistent advice of the RT at Crapria, my wife started with the N30i. by her second night she has done well with it. Her AHI is usually below 1, sometimes 0.1. I think you made a wise choice. I on the other hand can NOT wear any pillows mask. My no...

Re: What is the best nasal CPAP mask for not leaking?

I have about 2 dozen different masks. Still looking for that perfect Mask. I have a couple favorites, the Sleepweaver 3D which is currently out of stock at the manufacturer and is very sensitive when it comes to adjusting the fit to your face. The Dream Wisp is my alternat and is much more forgiving...

Re: Do we need independent heat/humidity, EPR ramp, adaptive brightness/color temp LCD?

My observation of those who fail at PAP therapy may fall into several groups. Never take it out of the box. Bring home a machine set wide open. Can not tolerate the extremes. After a few days put it in the closet for posterity. No meaningful support from medical/DME providers. My wife would have fal...

My really Old Philips ASV (also 16,000+ hours) Was my travel machine before I got my newest machine. My travel machine stays in the travel case, except when I am usi...

Re: New ResMed S10 AirCurve ASV - Need opinions on performance and settings

I was going to post my settings for you. I have been on ASV for about 10 years now and I am also using an Aircurve 10 ASV. But after looking at your charts I am not going to bother. You are all ready doing much better than I am. I only get Zero 5 or 10 times a year. I still get a 5 or 6 occasionally...

Re: Cascading problems-is it my machine?

Do you know what your machine settings are? It sounds like it is set from 4 to 20. That is not working for you. My wife started CPAP las t Christmas. I set her Airsense 11 at 7 to 12 cm H2O. A similar adjustment will limit the machines ability to "blow the mask off your face". You will need to get i...

I am also relatively new at this, started September 2010. When I travel I carry an extension cord and an octopus. I will unplug lamps, clocks, radios, refrigerators etc. if they don't have a convenient outlet. Some hotels have these cute little signs that say "Do Not Disturb". Do you wash your linen...

Re: Overnight oximetry report

I have used that O2 adapter in the past. it would go on the mask end of the heated hose, not near the machine. I also use a SleepWeaver Feather Weight Tube. I would place the O2 adapter between the heated hose and the SleepWeaver Feather Weight Tube then the mask on the end of the SleepWeaver Feathe...

Re: Replacing parts on Air sense 11

Everyone stole my thunder. I like to keep 2 backup hoses 2 backup water chambers and since most DMEs don't like to stock or even order my Sleepweaver 3D mask I like to keep several on the shelf. I also keep a backup/travel machine. I have lots of filters, but I just discovered Amazon sells a 60 pack...
