Re: FDA petition to grant OTC status to CPAP machines
When I was diagnosed with OSA and AFIB, I had never heard of either one. I can now look back and recognize my OSA symptoms going back at least a decade or two or three prior to my diagnosis by a doctor. I recognized OSA symptoms in my wife a decade before I convinced her to get tested. She now admit...

Re: OT: supplemental oxygen?
Where is Dr Vinnie located?
I hope he isn't in Chicago. That is too far from San Diego to travel for a Dr appointment.

Re: OT: supplemental oxygen?
Zonker That's amazing, we share the same doctor. I have been using supplemental Oxygen since about 1 month before I started APAP. I am not quite as cheap as you. I just bought my third Contec CMS50i. the rechargeable batteries died in the first 2 years ago. The new one uses a USB C cable and I am no...

Re: Do I need a Sleep Doc?
Janknitz That incident with the PA was probably 5 years ago. The exhaustion has only been the past 6 months. Azij I am very patiently awaiting my appointment with my PCP next week. I am also researching "blind men" that are in network. I have found 2 pulmonologists/Apnea specialists that are in netw...

Re: Do I need a Sleep Doc?
Fatigue is one item.
I am also out of breath after mild exertion, like putting on my shoes and sox.
I am thinking a pulmonologist/sleep doc.
Yes. Next time I will be insisting on an appointment with the MD, not a PA.

Re: Afib and OSA
I don't do things half way like you. I am 79 now. I was diagnosed with AFIB and OSA in August of 2010. Several bouts with a Holter monitor suggest I have constant, Mostly silent AFIB. Did not learn about cardioversion until it was way to late to try it. My Sleep Test AHI was only 83. Now I generally...

Do I need a Sleep Doc?
I have been on PAP therapy since September 2010 The last few visits I have had to a sleep doc, turned out to be with a PA who simply said you are doing great, keep up the good work. My PCP does provide DME prescriptions any time I ask. My AHI bounces around between 0.0 and 3.0 with an occasional spi...

Re: dme monitoring fee
IF a DME ever got that type of fee from me, my next moves would be a request for a refund followed by a complaint to Medicare and a small claims suit.

Is there a reason I always keep at least one backup water chamber, heated hose and mask of choice?

Re: Any nasal masks with top of head hose attachment or routing?
You might want to look at the Resperonics Dream Wisp. It does have top of the head connection and I believe it comes with an 18" light weight hose to provide more flexibility. It is my second favorite Mask.

Re: Not able to inport CMS50I serial oximeters data
I just got a new CMS50i a few days ago. It is very difficult to plug in the USB C cable to the watch. I can plug in the finger probe, but only because it is an L shaped USB C and I can squeeze the connector and watch increasing the amount of pressure I can apply. With the straight charging cable I n...

I have used the Elan for a couple years.
When the 3D came out I switched about 5 years ago. It is the best I have found, but not yet perfect.

Re: Is my ResMed AirSense 10 Auto Working and Migrating to Airfit F30
I learned long ago that the bottom of my nose is very tender and ANYTHING touching it for an extended period will leave it sore. Therefore I can't wear nasal pillow, nasal cushions, or any mask that seals against the bottom of my nose. The bridge of my nose is also sensitive, which means I am very p...

Re: My next experiment....the AirSense 11 AutoSet
I realize I am also a newbie at this, but I could never imagine going back from an Aircurve to an Airsense. I have been using ASV for 11 years now, started with a PR 960. The only time I experienced rainout was when I added humidity to me O2 concentrator. I do have an empty water chamber almost ever...
