Re: Chronic Cough - Did you have prior to OSA diagnosis?

I too have asthma but since being on the hose I have used my inhaler maybe 3 times TOTAL in a month. Before CPAP I used it at least 3 times a day! I suspect my chronic cough was due to the snoring keeping my throat dry and irritated. I had days where I could barely talk. I dreaded conference calls a...

Chronic Cough - Did you have prior to OSA diagnosis?

Just curious if any of you suffered from chronic cough before being diagnosed with OSA? I have coughed non-stop for 3 - 4 years and since I began treatment about a month ago it has improved immensely. I don't think this is a very common symptom but wanted to hear others experiences. I am looking for...

Ambien - any tips?

My Dr. gave me Ambien today because after nearly 1 month I am only sleeping 3-4 hrs. a night. I am a little bit scared of taking it. Anyone have opinions, good or bad?? Let me hear them! Thanks!

Re: Ready for a nap

Good for you for masking up! I am feeling very guilty today. I began feeling sick yesterday afternoon and developed a 102 fever that I kept until 6am this morning. Since my nose was all stuffed up I couldn't wear my mask. It's only week 3 for me but I do feel guilty. I do not have a FF mask so I did...

Is this true? Masks not compatiable?

My RT told me that if I had a ResMed machine I can't get a Respironics Mask. Is that correct information? I don't see how the masks could be all that different other than how they feel to the patient. Just asking, I'm a clueless newbie!

Re: Please tell me this is normal!

Thanks everyone for you encouraging words. I am very glad I found this forum, don't think I will ever feel alone.

I will definitely try putting the mask on and just chillin' around the house. Maybe if I'm lucky my hubby will toss the elephant some peanuts!

Please tell me this is normal!

I used to love to sleep. It's only been 2 weeks on CPAP but now I dread night time. I start getting anxious about getting hooked to the machine and I can't go to sleep. Did anyone else go through this?? I am starting to feel really depressed about my life on CPAP. I know the health issues are not go...
