Re: My life just fell apart
If anything, CPAP has caused me to be a more of a critical thinker and skeptical of the world around me. I'll think for you. I won't waste any time on my knees talking to myself though. The lady asked for prayers. If you don't pray, then don't comment. To demean her beliefs was rude and inappropria...

This is the first I've heard of it. Based on bhneely's reply, I think I'll stick with warming up distilled water.

My 1st PAP "birthday"
As of today, I've been "on the hose" for one year. I purposely used “birthday”, because it’s as if I’ve been reborn. Here are some of the positive changes (in no particular order): 1. Nocturia (excessive urination at night) is gone. I used to have to get up at least 3 times every night, often more. ...

Re: Anyone gone back to a nasal mask after pillows?
I know you have a heated hose but, with the Swift FX, you still have about a foot of hose that is not heated. If the room air is cold enough, that may be the cause of the rainout. If you cover it with a hose cozy, that may just stop the rainout. Good luck!

I only use it when I'm too stuffed up to breathe through my nose, but I like the Quattro FX.

Re: Made in the USA?
I was wrong about where Respironics is based; they are in the US. I don't know if all of their machines are made in the US or not.

Re: Made in the USA?
I found out Fisher and Paykel is based in New Zealand. They do make some appliances here, but I'm not sure about their PAP machines.

It seems to me that falling asleep while driving is a pretty serious outward symptom. The people who share the road with you might appreciate it if you didn't have that particular symptom.

Re: Made in the USA?
DeVilbiss is US-based and manufactured. Resmed and Respironics are not based in the US, but I don't know if any of the machines are made here. I'm not sure about Fisher-Paykel or any of the smaller companies.

OT: Blonde rebuttal
True story: My niece, Liz (a natural blonde and a very intelligent woman), once said to me, "Uncle Joe, do you know why all dumb blonde jokes are so short?" I said (of course), "No, Liz, why?" She said, "So that brunettes and redheads can understand them." You know I had to laugh. BTW, it was not be...

Re: Can't stay asleep
For people to be able to help, we need to have a place to start. What machine and mask do you have? Are you having leaks? Do you find it difficult to adjust to breathing against the pressure? Do you find the mask irritating? Try to describe to us what's going on so we've got some idea of what kind o...
