Re: nfredrick86 DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM
the seller took a huge risk with trying to sell an item via an online support forum. The seller is out $125. I would not call that a "huge risk". I was referring to the huge risk of conducting a sales transaction through a website that isn't specified as a marketplace for CPAP equipment. jargon113 ...

Re: nfredrick86 DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM
Hrmm... maybe cpaptalk should implement a user rating system. So when things happen like this, people get err... downvoted? CPAPtalk.com serves its purpose as a place for discussing CPAP and sleep apnea. It shouldn't be responsible for a private sales transaction dispute. While unfortunate, the sel...

Re: Best tape for taping mouth shut?
im thinking of chin strap AND tape. I am a mouth breather not only sleeping but in regular life as well It will take a lot of conscious effort and time to correct this to nose breathing without conscious thinking about it. Anyone else use strap AND tape? I use Nexcare's "gentle paper" tape. As long...

Re: Empty water chamber daily??
It basically comes down to personal preference. Echoing what beautifuldreamer said, some empty out and clean it daily, and others don't. I used to empty it out daily when I first started on CPAP, but I eventually changed the cleanings to a weekly routine. I use distilled water for the humidifier cha...

Re: Higher pressure causing difficulty in daytime breathing?
Thanks for all the insightful replies. I lowered the minimum pressure from 13 to 12 (12 was my actual prescribed setting) and slept for two nights with that setting. The bloating/gas situation is much better, but the dry mouth is still present. It's a discomfort, but I won't let it bother me too muc...

Re: Higher pressure causing difficulty in daytime breathing?
I am too new to be much help except to let you know that you are not alone. I have only had 4 days on my AutoSV which is set at high pressure. I have also experienced severe dry mouth, chest sore from breathing, and puffy eyes from leaks from the high pressure in my eyes. I am trying out a new mask...

Re: Higher pressure causing difficulty in daytime breathing?
Remember your chest muscles have to work harder breathing out against that new pressure. They are like any muscle you exercise more - they object, hurt, get stiff. Hi BlackSpinner, thanks for the response. I understand that my chest and lungs are getting more of a workout, but is it common for a hi...

Higher pressure causing difficulty in daytime breathing?
I recently made a post regarding some pressure changes that have been making me feel even worse. I was ordered to change my pressure to 12-15. That minimum pressure turns out to be too high. I wake up very bloated and with dry mouth, despite using tape and a chin strap. You can fill your groceries w...

Re: Rant/Question in regards to changing CPAP pressure range
Thanks for all the responses. I forgot to mention that I use a chin strap and sometimes I tape my mouth. Mouth taping has helped with preventing leaks, but sometimes I feel suffocated and take it off in the middle of the night. Lately, I've only been using the chin strap without tape, but last night...

Rant/Question in regards to changing CPAP pressure range
Hi Everyone, It's been a few years since I've posted anything on this forum. My CPAP therapy most likely has been working according to my AHI and other data. However, it's difficult to tell because I've just been feeling even more lousy (severe cognitive/short-term memory issues, weakness, etc) on a...

UPDATE Re: Leak level is great. Still have dry mouth ...?
I just wanted to give an update that may be useful to others who may be in a similar situation. To troubleshoot the dry mouth and grogginess, I stopped using Androgel for about two weeks (per endocrinologist's advice) and noticed an improvement in symptoms, but still experienced the same adverse eff...

Re: Leak level is great. Still have dry mouth and feel groggy?
Hi robysue, thanks for the reply. I am using the heated ClimateLine with Climate Control set to auto and at 85 degrees, which has worked for me and never been changed. The humidity level on the flow generator has also been set at 6.0 and changed depending on weather/outside humidity but has been con...

Leak level is great. Still have dry mouth and feel groggy?
A little background: diagnosed with OSA two years ago and have been on APAP, using ResMed Autoset S9 with SwiftFX nasal pillows. Pressure: 8-12cm (Sometimes adjust to 9-12). AHI has remained below 2.0. I keep the humidity level high. I use Lanolin to help seal the pillows. The way I feel when I wake...

Thanks for the responses. Todzo, is Flow Rate the right graph to highlight? I'm not sure which graph to highlight.
