Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?
For those without health insurance, having even a single doctor, let alone a "support team," is already difficult enough. I haven't seen my sleep doctor in over a year. I haven't seen my GP in months. I haven't had a sleep test for over 3 years. I use a CPAP machine, but still have lots of sleep iss...

Re: CPAP and Intimacy
I sounded preachy before, and I apologize. I can't possibly understand the difficulties of introducing a partner to CPAP because I've been married since I was a kid. Well them, please try to increase your empathy level. I HAVE NOT been married since I was a kid, as I was in college and then graduat...

CPAP and Intimacy
If I might bring up a delicate subject.... what do any of you do -- especially those of you who are single -- what do you do about CPAP while dating and (I'll just say it) having some overnight intimacy. I haven't stayed overnight with someone since beginning CPAP about 3 years ago, and to be frank ...

Re: Recall on Respironics humidifier
Perhaps. I'm not an expert on all the technical specifications of my machine. I was just trying to do a favor by mentioning the recall and didn't expect to get grilled for it. I won't make the mistake of trying to do a favor again.

Re: Recall on Respironics humidifier
I don't have a recall number or link, sorry. And I no longer have the unit in my possession.
My unit was new when I received it in February 2010, but I don't know how long my supplier had it until then.

Recall on Respironics humidifier
Some here might be interested to know that Respironics has a recall on their Remstar M Series humidifiers. I wrote earlier of my troubles with getting mine to work: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t72308/Advice-on-fixing-Respironics-humidifier.html The problem persisted even after it was suggested...

Re: Advice on fixing Respironics humidifier?
Pugsy, thanks very much -- the door was indeed loose. I fiddled with it and last night it all worked fine. The door still doesn't seem to want to go down completely over the water level window, but it's working for now.
A big help. Thanks again.

Advice on fixing Respironics humidifier?
The humidifier on my Respironics humidifier has stopped working, and I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone familiar with it. The blue light atop the dial is blinking. The manual says the humidifier is not properly communicating with the therapy device: (page 20) http://www.directhomemedical.com/...

Re: throat exercises?
Thanks John, but I did search this site (of course), as well as the Web. I've seen a lot of instances of the keywords, and some discussion, and mentions of journal papers of the efficacy of throat exercies, but have found nothing that tells me *what* exercises are recommended in what quantities, wit...

throat exercises?
I read a newspaper article about throat exercises to help those with sleep apnea (like me -- yes, I use a CPAP machine, but am not finding it completely effective). Can anyone point me to a good site or paper that discusses these in detail, with examples? Thanks, David PS: I'd ask my doctor, but I h...
