Re: Frequent awakeners with mild OSA, has cpap helped?
My test results were an AHI of 6 which is mild but my Stage 4 and REM sleep was 0%. I've been using my cpap for 6 months now and I do notice a difference in how I feel but I still wake up a lot. It tends to be that I wake up around 5 and toss and turn for a while but then I fall into a deep sleep. I...

Re: dreaming here and there....
I started cpap in June of this year and although I wasn't dreaming a lot before starting, I started dreaming a lot more after I started therapy. My REM on my results was 0%. So, I figured dreams were a good thing. Now, I am not dreaming as much and I am feeling tired during the day even after sleepi...

Re: My rant lol
Honestly it's doesn't come as a surprise to me that my sister in law has chosen him. She's been thru so many guys and is fairly young at just 20. She's always thought about marriage so she's been trying to grab every guy who comes her way! I don't feel bad for her because she can make her own decisi...

My rant lol
I normally don't do this but I had to say something. My husbands sister is getting married and her fiance doesn't believe in medicine or doctors (dont ask me why, I have no idea) and when questioned about having sleeping apnea he just laughed. He falls asleep at work, is overweight and snores which ...

Re: Melatonin - New Info on Dangers, Dosage andPatient Selection
As I was watching the link, it felt more to me like a show about not taking pills correctly than a show about how bad melatonin is. They kept repeating over and over that it is a regulator and not a "sleeping pill" and it has side affects. Every single pill you will ever take in life has side affect...

Yeah I know what you mean! I feel like such a goofball sometimes when I say ya know so and so is probably linked to OSA. I'm sure by now my whole family thinks im a hypocondriac or something. lol

Re: CPAP Therapy and Solids Elimination Changes?
YES! I asked this earlier in June and no one responded. I use to have very loose and frequent movements, which I considered normal, until I started cpap. After about 4 weeks on cpap I noticed I was more regular and it was not loose anymore. I wondered if it had anything to do with cpap and when I as...

Re: Half of women may have OSA
In my sleep study it showed an ahi of 6.4! So, I am one of the young women who have mild OSA. Again, I'm sure many on here have read my story about fighting with my sleep center because they said my number's were too low for me to have OSA. What bothers me about this study is that although some of ...

Re: Not sure how to fix this
I looked at the manual and the whole elbow does come out but my husband pulled and yanked at it and it wouldn't budge! I tried as well and It just won't move? This is very frustrating!

Re: Not sure how to fix this
Well it does squeak really loud when it turns but I'm afraid I might have broke it somehow when I pulled it apart. My hose was brand new and it would take a lot of force to pull and put it on the machine and mask. It wasn't stretched out like it should have been yet.

Not sure how to fix this
So, I've now been using cpap for 10 weeks and I have been paying close attention to my mask and machine. I have the same mask and cushion and hose. For the past week or so I've been waking up on and off during the night to a "shhhh" sound. Of course, I check my mask and adjust but for the past week ...

Re: Lots of charlie horses in early am hours
I'm sure there are many causes but one of the main ones is lack of hydration. Do you drink much water? The exact same thing use to happen to me. I would be coming out of sleep or even awake sometimes in the early morning and I would stretch out my feet and BAM my calves would seize up in pain! It wo...

Re: Faulty Information from my NP??
Well I guess all my symptoms were just in my head then!! I think that's just plain stupid! I had enough trouble with my sleep center for the very same ignorance. They said because my AHI was 6.4 and I have low blood pressure, I didn't have OSA. Even though right on my test results it also showed sta...

Re: Newbie with questions!
I was in the same situation. I have mild OSA with a total AHI of 6.4. The sleep center said I didn't need a cpap and I was negative because my numbers were so low. I knew that wasn't correct because of the way I felt and both sides of my family have severe OSA. After I talked to the doctor and told ...
