Re: Zeo Headband - Think I've Got It!

Glad you got it working better for you! I like my Zeo, even though I know it's not perfect it does help at least give me an idea of what's going on and that's pretty much the whole point.

Re: Working Things out ....

To make sure YOU control the process, do NOT walk out of the Doctor's office withOUT the original prescription in your hands. Tell the Doctor, YOU will bring the prescription to the DME YOU decide you want to deal with. Also tell the Doctor NOT to fax it to the DME. Then, don't give the prescriptio...

Re: A good sleep doc story :)

It's nice to find a good provider, of whatever type, isn't it? I went to a new-to-me internal med/sleep doc Monday last week, and he was awesome. He has sleep apnea too, so he "gets it". And though not *old* (somewhere in his 50s), he's old-fashioned in that he believes in spending time with his pat...

Re: Citrus II Hospital Germicidal Deodorizing Cleaner

Since baby shampoo has been mentioned in this thread, I agree that it is safe and mild (for most cpap accessories); but do NOT use it on SleepWeaver Advance or élan, as baby shampoo is one common cleaning product that has been found (by Circadiance) to be destructive to the special fabrics in these...

Re: Sleepweaver Elan Question

Not sure if this will help, but I've found that my top straps need to be a little tighter than my bottom straps, and once I get them to the right tightness -- enough to just slip in a finger flat between the strap and my face -- then I never undo them. The only ones I undo each morning/night are the...

Re: A Telling Experiment

I went to a new-to-me sleep doc on Monday, who also has sleep apnea. He mentioned in the course of the visit that once upon a time he'd had cause to not use his machine for 2-3 nights while away from home, and slept/felt awful without it. Even I, in my only 7 weeks of treatment, have noticed a diffe...

That's a bummer, I'm interested in the Wisp as well because it looks so un-intrusive. Did you use the plastic or fabric version?

Thanks for the info, and sorry it didn't work out for you!

Re: Cloth CPAP Masks

Not only is the Elan more comfortable to me than the Swift FX pillows, but I went from mid-range leak problems to almost no leaks when I switched to the Elan, using the regular size cushion. Still had a few but not near what I did with the FX. Then when I switched from the regular size to the small ...

Re: Just 2 weeks in and doing great!

I'm jealous! I'm about 6-1/2 weeks in and although I've adapted fairly well, I don't have the increased energy, concentration and general better overall well-being that you do and that I'd hoped for by now. But neither am I giving up hope nor am I discouraged. Yay for you! http://hansenastro.com/whe...

Re: O/T Hearing Aid Forums?

I'm lucky enough to have a really great hearing aid doc too. I've been with her since...2000, I think, and she always treats me right. But if she ever moves or retires, that university thing sounds like a great idea.

49er: I think you answered your own question. Back up quarterbacks can make millions carrying a clipboard. He obviously has nothing in the tank or some desperate team, such as Green Bay, Dallas or the Baltimore Colts would sign him. Heck, he can't even get signed on to some teams practice squad! Sh...

Kteague, I would also be interested. Even though I've only been here a couple of months, I've noticed your posts are generally full of much good information and good sense. I would guess a blog or vlog would likely be the same.

Re: Sick and a tad freaked out... questions

A better choice than Tylenol (acetaminophen) might be ibuprofen. Tylenol is metabolized by the liver, and is an common ingredient of OTC cold/flu remedies. Overdosing is too easy--and the results go right to the liver. It's interesting, I'd always heard that Tylenol and acetaminophen were the worst...

Re: humidifier issue

Huh. I don't do the preheat and mine comes on orange sometimes; I always thought it meant low water. My humidifier light comes on -- either blue or orange -- at night when I'm putting the SD card back in just before bedtime, and then again when I actually turn the machine on. But I never actually *l...
