Re: CPAP Usage Dependency?
In my case, my doc told me that the CPAP improved my breathing. I asked him if I could then go off CPAP therapy but he said it would return in a few days. Actually helps tissues from swelling. Before my next sleep study, he instructed me to go off therapy for at least 3 days prior to test. If I’m ha...

Re: RESMED S9 Autoset to RESMED VPAPS Easy Breathe
Wow! Thank you for the link to manual. The manual that came with mine is much much simpler. I am going to have to study all the replies and try to digest the info. My two machines look identical- not like the linked picture. again, I am going to have to study all this info in an attempt to understan...

Re: RESMED S9 Autoset to RESMED VPAPS Easy Breathe
It does not say S9 on it - just VPAP S
I believe sleepyhead does not work on an apple computer, which is what I have.
95 percent pressure? Where would that be shown?
Thanks for the info.

RESMED S9 Autoset to RESMED VPAPS Easy Breathe
My S9 is still working but in the middle of the night it makes a terrible screeching noise. Yes, it has fallen off the nightstand a couple of times. I got out my husband's little used VPAP S and trying to see if I can use it. I did figure out how to put it in CPAP mode but if I understand correctly,...

Re: For Sale - ResMed S9 AutoSet - Used Only 1 Month
Wow there cowgirl, that was a very interesting link. I have mild sleep apnea due to allergic rhinitis. I would wake up gasping for air. Yes, Veramyst has helped and I am undergoing allergy shots in hopes that breathing will improve. Even so if I don't wear the CPAP I wake up with headaches, a sure s...

Re: Resmed making noise with exhale
Thanks for the link. Will trying adjusting the EPR. Like others, the noise comes and goes. It will make it for a few weeks and then fix itself. Very annoying to me as I can't fall asleep. Others suggest it might be the size of the filter but it is the same filter whether it makes the noise or not. W...

Resmed making noise with exhale
I have listened carefully. It is not the hose or nasal pillows or humidifier. I can hear a noise when I exhale. I put my ear down by the machine and it is definitely doming from the machine. Wondering if the machine has a leak somewhere. Anyone else have this problem? Solve it? Thanks.

Re: Dry Mouth
Been there. Going to nasal pillows helped me. Additionally I wear a mouthguard. Learning to keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth and my lips together helps but still occasionally I get dry mouth.

Re: Filters
Not just filters. They don't want to pay for anything. I need filters right now. Will figure out how to get replacement pillows when the time comes. Thanks palerider. What does that mean "filter has to be covered". Mine has a plastic cover that I lift up to insert filter that came with the machine. ...

Filters
My insurance company is giving me a hard time. I guess two doctors saying I have sleep apnea isn't enough! I am due to replace filter on machine. Can I purchase them without a prescription? Can I wash them and reuse? Make them? Thanks.

Re: Flying with Oxygen
Julie and chunky, my thoughts exactly. I realize you aren't doctors, but I was just wondering what other people have experienced and how they went about accomplishing this. My father and mother were in the military, lived all over the world, travelled in retirement and now it is killing my dad to ha...

Flying with Oxygen
My dad was recently diagnosed with emphysema and using oxygen. He has an oxygen concentrator at home and uses portable tanks to go to the grocery store. Thought he might come to see me but United has very strict requirements. He would have to have a United approved portable oxygen concentrator which...

Re: Traveling to Italy - backpack for CPAP?
Yes, the Tumi looks wonderful but a little pricey. Maybe I can find something similar. Thanks Julie! Love your kitty pic. We do have a couple of train trips and I don't want to be separated from that bag with CPAP. Concerned it might not fit in train overhead. Something soft sided might fit better. ...
