Re: CPAP in Hospital
Thank you for your well wishes. I am recovering very nicely, and have been checked for and or flushed or treated for nearly every affliction known to man. They had the whole family freaked out over me having a stroke. My family lives in Missouri and I live in California, so you can see how that comp...

Re: CPAP in Hospital
Why the heck would you use the hospital's mask when you had your own with your CPAP machine? Because wife took everything home with her, and they brought the machine into my room at 1AM. I could have used my mask the next night, but with no breath pressure relief, or whatever you call it, I cannot e...

CPAP in Hospital
So I was feeling poorly last week and they sent me home from work. 7 miles of the 15 and I had to pull over. I called my wife and she came and took me to the ER. She wheeled me in, and they took one look at me and took me straight in. I could not put a sentence together, or ID simple objects, my rig...

Re: Taping on lips
I use the 1 inch 3M Micropour tape and it really helps. It causes me no issues.

Re: Taking off CPAP mask in the middle of the night?
Yes it happens. I used to do it quite a bit. Don't fret, as you get used to having it on, it will happen less. A few Months back, I went to bed without it because of a stuffy nose, and woke up in the middle of the night with it on! I guess I am so used to having it (and used to being awake in the da...

Re: One Year in.
I have had a few deep cycle batteries. I would go for the lithium pack if I was hiking in. I almost never go for more than two nights anymore, and don't stray far from the truck, so the bulk is no problem. I am in the car business, so car batteries are very easy for me to get cheaply, and I don't th...

Re: One Year in.
I just used a regular car battery for five nights in a row, with the heated humidifier on. It worked fine. I put the battery on the charger tonight, and it said it was at 9% and the voltage was down to 9.5. It would not have made it through tonight, probably, but at least I know I can use it for my ...

Re: One Year in.
Thank You. Yes I saw that already. Very good stuff. I will review it thoroughly before I make my decision. I just started a job today, so with luck I will be able to get hooked up pretty soon. It is almost Fishing time!

Re: One Year in.
I usually only go for a couple of nights, seldom more than 3. If it would work for two nights, that is two more days I can feel good!

One Year in.
My first year on XPAP is coming to a close. I have used the machine almost every night, and my AHI is finally settling down to where I am getting under 5 fairly regularly. I have played with the pressure, and found if it is under 9, (which is my CPAP prescription) I don't get enough air, and if it g...

Re: Nasal Mask leak issues
Sounds as if you are just hearing the venting air hitting the sheets to me. Most of my minor leaking around the FX can be fixed with some Lansanoh (SP?) cream.

Re: Tell me about your chinstrap use....
I used a strap for a while, but it always slipped. It helped me to train myself to keep my mouth closed, so it was good that I had it. I now can sleep without anything, but I usually tape, to keep leaks to a minimum.

Re: Late Sleep Cycle Cluster Events: Strategies?
I don't use an alarm clock at all. I don't do anything to intentionally interfere with sleep! However, when I wake up I usually turn the thing off and back on to document when I woke up. As an example, last night I slept from midnight until 605 with an AHI of 5.1. Between 605 and 716 my AHI was 21.2...

Re: Late Sleep Cycle Cluster Events: Strategies?
I like to see what it would be without it. I have a lot of centrals as I am waking up. It has nothing to do with OSA, for which I am being treated. Actually, my AHI really doesn't matter a bit. What matters to me is that I don't fall asleep during important conversations.
