Re: Grrr...no sleep :(
Wow pandatx I really feel for you. I am not quite a week into xPAP, and I am lucky I have taken to it pretty well - worst night with the mask was 6.5 hours, and only one bad night with the Mirage Softgel which was just a horrible mask for me. My AHIs have all been less than 1, minimal leakage, etc. ...

Re: resmed-goes-on-warpath-over-sleep-apnea-gear-patents
I see nothing wrong with a company protecting its legal rights. It is effectively trying to protect its revenue streams. The strength of revenue streams determines the amount of resource that can be out into R&D and the overall financial health of a company (presuming the follow productive research ...

Re: Mask issues
I wonder if I have had a breakthrough! Tried the Mirage Micro mask for the first time last night. The headgear was loose but comfortable and most importantly kept the mask in place. The mask seemed a good fit - no leaking at all, and I didn't get that claustrophobic feeling I got with the Softgel. N...

Re: Resmed S9 compared to its previous model
The sages on the site, who know a lot more than I do, say avoid the word Escape connected with the s9 because of its limited data capabilities. The S9 auto is the way to go so argue it with your insurance company. I just got the s9 myself last week and it is very easy to use, and very effective too.

Re: Mask issues
I tried the L size pillows on the Swift LT - too big and instant leaking - so I went back to M and no leaking. I tried loosening the straps. I am not sure it made a lot of difference to the pillow pressure against my nose, but one thing it did seem to make worse was the rubbing of part of the headge...

Re: Mask issues
The medical supplier seems to have exclusively ResMed gear. I can ship stuff in from the US and UK as we have an account with a courier company. The costs have gone up so much in the last couple of years, I think I might have to go out and sell our first-born to finance it. I am cautious about layin...

I am a forum and xPAP newbie - I am 3 nights in. There are a lot of wonderfully kind, helpful people on this site who give fantastic advice and point you towards resources and information. You have come to the right place. You sound quite savvy already in terms of determination not to be short chang...

Re: Mask issues
Thanks all. I am going to try the Swift LT again tonight but have gone from M to L pillow size - I already know S is too small. I'll see how that works. I'll also check the tightness of the straps. I know after just half a night of a nasal mask that pillow masks are the one for me. I liked the Swift...

Mask issues
So, I am 3 nights into my xPAP life. My AHI has been 0.7, 0.3 and 0.1 over the three nights. These are superb numbers and I couldn't be happier, except...... Masks! I wanted a basal pillow mask (Swift FX) as this is what I had during my sleep study. They only had the Swift LT so I started using that...

Re: All papped up!
Notlazy - I read enough on here not to have my expectations too high. As it turned out, the first night went very well. Got off to sleep ok without using ramping. The LT mask fit was ok but I did change the pillows from S to M pretty much immediately. Only woke up once for the bathroom at around 2am...

Great stuff guys - the uninstall and then re-install as administrator worked like a charm. Thank you.

SleepyHead version update fail
I have 0.9.1 and the auto update function tries to update to 0.9.2-1, but each time it fails.
Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
Thanks!

Re: All papped up!
Thanks for the message of support. I am not getting too excited - in fact my wife commented that my expectations were low and that I should be more excited! I'm hoping that things will turn around maybe within the next month, little by little, but I am not expecting miracles. I think the big challen...

All papped up!
I took delivery of my Resmed S9 Auto today. The Swift FX mask was out of stock so I have a LT for a couple of weeks until the LX arrives. I ended up having to buy locally as UK and US suppliers would not recognise a foreign issued prescription. I had to pay almost exactly double for the machine as I...

Re: Where can I buy CPAP machine without prescription?
I hit a wall on this myself recently. I had my sleep study in Thailand and live in the UAE. Buying from the USA and even rip-off Britain would be WAY cheaper than buying in the UAE, but no dice without a domestic prescription in that country. I am taking delivery of the Resmed S9 Auto tomorrow from ...
