Re: Newbie with questions.
You could do what I did and turn off the ramp and start with the pressure at its normal level right away. You just have to get used to the pressure. It's going to make you feel like it's filling up your lungs with air but that's what it's suppose to do. Lots of good advice on this blog and the peopl...

Getting tired during the day again
I've been on my CPAP for about two years now and for the past month I've been getting tired during the day like I used to before CPAP. Has anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to ramp up the air pressure. When I task the mask off it blows air like it always has but it doesn't seem like it m...

Re: Uvula removal
Thanks for your responses. My ENT did mention that he would only remove enough of my uvula to bring it back to a normal size thereby not having the speech and blowback issues that some of you have mentioned. He said I was too old to have my tonsils out and that it would do more harm than good. I can...

Uvula removal
I thought I had post nasal drip and my PCP couldn't find anything wrong and referred me to an ENT. The ENT said that I have an elongated uvula that was probably caused by many years of snoring and that was the source of what I thought was post nasal drip. It doesn't happen all of the time but I am a...

Re: Post nasal drip
LSAT, first of all being from Wisconsin as well I enjoy your logo. As far as the post nasal drip it seems like it's always at the back of my throat. I went to my PCP on Monday and told him that I've tried Benedryl, Claritan, and Zyrtec, with no relief. He prescribed a nasal spray called ipratropium ...

Re: Poll: Official mask lending thread?
Not sure about anybody else but my DME allows me to use a mask for 30 days and if I don't like it I can bring it back and try out a new one. It can go on forever. They just used the masks that people bring back as demos for people that want to try out that type of mask. Not sure if everyone has this...

Post nasal drip
Just checking, does anyone have post nasal drip in the back of their throat because of the CPAP? Have had it for a couple of months and just got a prescription to try and dry up the mucus. Just wondering if setting the humidity level differently would help. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: General question about RX refill
I did get my PCP to give me an RX for my CPAP supplies. He did it for 99 years but when I went to the DME to pickup my mask she told me that my script was only good for a year because that's the way some insurance companies operate. She said my insurance allows for a new mask every six months so I s...

Re: Nasal mask
LSAT, you never know just asking. I have the nasal pillows also and I don't like them because they irritate the nasal entrance of my nose. By the way, I am from Wisconsin as well and enjoy your logo!!

Nasal mask
I have been using the Mirage FX nasal mask with fairly good results. Has anyone tried something that may be better? How about the Wisp? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks!!

I just have to say.....
kudos to each and everyone of you on this board. I've been on this board for a year now and I must say that the knowledge and consideration of the people on this board is beyond awesome. Everyone truly has a passion to help out his brother/sister CPAP user. My doctor told me that boards like this ar...

Re: So I says to the Dr. What's wrong with you?
Requis, welcome to the board. My scenario sounds very similar to yours. About a year ago I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea as you are. 65.6 episodes per hour. I too had to wait to see the Pulmonologist for two months. My friend had just gotten a CPAP machine and he said it made him feel great ...

General question about RX refill
Just have a question about refilling a prescription for masks, headgear, tubing, and filters. Do any of you get your refill from your PCP or do you have to go back to your Pulmonologist. My initial prescription from my Pulmonologist has lapsed and I need a new mask. I have to go to my PCP on Monday ...
