Re: Dry mouth and extensive air pressure
Dry mouth is because you sleep with your mouth open. Cpap by its self will not cause dry mouth.

Re: Resmed S9 broken and out of warranty! What now?
My machine stopped working properly. I'm due a new one in August according to medicare rules. Instead of showing how many hours slept each time I use it, it's adding up the hours over the few days. It's reading 23.5 hours slept "last night". The AHI is based on the hours slept so now the AHI is off...

As always, only your INSURANCE has the details of your coverage.
Do not trust the DME--they guess or lie, you pick which.

Re: Looking for good DME in NYC
I have aetna and spoke to one from my dme list and they told me they don't get paid much from insurance and I will have to pay extra to get the mask I want (Airfit n20). From what I've read this is par the course with DME's, and will only provide you low end equipment since their amount paid from i...

Re: Patient in the Driver's Seat
So, she said with a full face mask you should be able to sleep with your mouth open without a problem. I don't think that's the case. What do you think FFMs are for? They are for people whose mouth opens at times while sleeping. The things you need to learn can be learned here. From the medical pro...

The logical thing to do is call your insurance company. They are the only ones that know the definitive answer.

Re: OT: Blink Health for Prescription Drugs
First off Medicare does not cover any prescription drugs! If you are on Medicare you also need a Part D prescription plan which is sold by individual insurance companies not Medicare. Please do not tell people that Medicare does or does not cover prescription drugs. It is a Part D Prescription plan....

Re: Physicans do not accept new Medicare patients
. . . I told Novant's employee who answered the phone that I have Medicare Advantage plus BCBS supplement plan F. Ha! This is IMPOSSIBLE! Plan F supplements should not be sold to Advantage patients--ever! Avi, you are being RIPPED OFF! This is a FEDERAL OFFENCE. You need to contact Medicare directl...

Re: time for a replacement?
You better make sure Medicare will cover it. Just because its older than 5 years Medicare may not replace it unless it is not working properly. It is not a sure thing anymore! Plus you will have to go through the compliance period again with Dr. documentation. Plus a DME approved by Medicare.

Re: DME trying to give me a brick?
Hi all! This is my first post - be gentle I had my titration study about 10 days ago (initial sleep study indicated severe OSA). The hospital chose the DME (DASCO) as I indicated no preference. I got a call from the regional DASCO wanting to set me up with an appointment for my CPAP and I asked her...
