Re: Using CPAP for the first time tonight
Finally had my first full nights sleep with the mask on last night. I woke up maybe 2-3 times but didn't take the mask on, I'd call that a success! edit: has anyone had or has a solution for the nasal pillow resting on your top lip a bit too heavily?? Going to post the last 2 days reports to see if ...

Re: Using CPAP for the first time tonight
I'm not sure 100% what's going through my mind at night but i just keep waking up at around 5AM and taking the mask off. I hope i get used to it because i dont think the data it's collecting is very useful if i keep taking it off. Last night was a bit better.... probably slept 4-5 hours with the mas...

Re: Using CPAP for the first time tonight

Hopefully everything goes that smoothly tonight! awesome. every little bit helps. let us know if we ca...

Re: Using CPAP for the first time tonight
So... the first night didn't go so well, probably more or less what i expected. I couldn't really fall asleep, i kept waking up. The sleep pillows are probably too big or something because my right nostril started to get sore and actually hurt after about an hour so i eventually took the mask off. G...

Re: No Insurance, Sleep Study And CPAP question
" Unfortunately, the state of "professional" treatment is really bad, so you can suffer from some of these problems even if you do go the official route." I was about to add the "above" to my reply......IMO I have not received optimal treatment for nine years now and still have to mostly self treat...

Re: No Insurance, Sleep Study And CPAP question
One thing that you should check out is whether you can do a home study for cheap/free. In the case of my community hospital, when they set up the sleep lab they got the hospital auxiliary to buy the ApneaLink, and they use it for free screenings. Free for everyone that they suspect might have apnea...

Re: No Insurance, Sleep Study And CPAP question
Oh...can you normally breathe through your mouth okay during the day or do you have chronic nasal issues forcing you to mouth breathe? I might have a mask you can just have but I need to know about mouth breathing first. I can normally mouth breathe during the day and i do not have chronic nasal is...

Re: No Insurance, Sleep Study And CPAP question
I thought on secondwindcpap you didn't need an RX? I'm only considering the DIY option since it'll be cheaper... I can MAYBE afford a $400 machine... I actually looked on craigslist and saw a few cpap machines but I don't know if it's safe purchasing from CL since I'm scared about it not being sanit...

No Insurance, Sleep Study And CPAP question
Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster! I've read a LOT of the topics here, and a lot of articles online and I think I may have sleep apnea. After calling around I've gotten prices for sleep studies from $1000-3000 and I simply cannot afford that since I don't have insurance. I've thoug...
