Re: Seriously wrong myths on this forum.
I think he has this forum confused with another one. He seems to respond here to topics on other forums. He keeps asking for a moderator, when we have told him several times that this forum is basically unmoderated. And I suspect the locked forums are somewhere else too. It is very rare for a threa...

Re: Sleeping on your Left Side: DOCTOR JOHN.
He says sleeping on your left side is anatomically logical. Anyone have a relevant experience to share? https://youtu.be/INQIJoVbmd0 This is an advertorial to a non-medical DOCTOR. He is selling his anti-medicine goods on his "natural" web site. According to him, the hundreds of astronauts must hav...

Re: URGENT: OSA surgery and quality of life
Thanks for the answers. I appreciate the help, but I think there's some confusion here about the point of the thread. I'm not doing the surgery out of the blue, and I'm not going to back out. It's been a long collaborative work with the doctor and me, and we both think the surgery is the best optio...

Re: Opinions please on my oximeter readings good, bad, ok ?
I have been feeling tired for a long time What led you to do an oximetry study? Do you have other symptoms? How old are you? What is your BMI? Do you have any other health problems? What is your diet like? Are you active? Have you had a medical physical recently? What drugs are you taking? How much...

Seriously wrong myths on this forum.
Those of us with biological science backgrounds can be very upset by the very many mistakes & myths on this web site. As a newcomer to this web site, it is obvious that no medically trained person has dared to challenge these very many tediously wrong ideas. Myself, and other scientific-medically tr...

Re: Congestion Affecting CPAP Usage - Help!
I've now been on CPAP for exactly one week. I often have congestion in one nostril. What I'm experiencing is that on nights where I don't have much congestion I am doing OK and my breathing with CPAP is comfortable. But when using CPAP on nights when I have congestion and am only breathing through ...

More to happiness than gadget swapping.
Has anybody had redness caused by Nasal masks AND found a NEW one that solved the problem? I use pillows masks to avoid redness on the bridge of my nose. However, my lowest leak readings have always been on those few occasions when using Nasal masks. Am getting new equipment and wonder if there's a...

Re: Worn out Velcro
I use the SleepWeaver Élan mask and head gear. Once I get the new mask adjusted I only loosen the right side lower strap to put the mask on or off. After 4-6 months the Velcro starts to loose it's grip. Does anyone know a way to rejuvenate the Velcro so it no longer releases at inappropriate times....

Re: Importance of Sleep Study Nurse (Theory)
Ever since I first donned a CPAP mask, I have had positive feelings toward it. Why? Well, on that fateful night, May 16-17 1990, an attractive female nurse waited on me. Since then, I have associated CPAP with being nurtured and cared for. Much later, in my second sleep study, I had a male nurse at...

Re: Help! Tab/Hose Stuck
We need to know what make/model of hose, mask and machine. Different ones attach differently. Read the invoice/packing slip, and tell us what it says. Read the labels on the machine, top, front back, bottom--but not with water inside it. Write down what you see, and tell us. Sorry for the misinform...

Re: Newbie having serious issues removing mask at night.
Hi all, Been on a CPAP for a week and am having some serious problems. I take ambien and have done so for a few years now, ... <SNIP> ... a full face mask. Every morning I wake up and the mask has been removed, I don't remember doing it, and it feels like someone took a wire brush to my throat. ......

Re: can't find user controls or glossary
I am a thoroughly lost newbie. Using an auto log-in I assume I am logged in but find no way to be sure. I read that control panel was just below search box. Well, not on my screen. I saw a reference to a glossary, is there one. Also, POST A REPLY button is usually missing, yet I can use the QUOTE b...

Re: CPAP USAGE, LONG TERM.
You also still seem to be unaware that there really aren't any moderators on this forum. The forum owner will fix problems if they are bad enough, but they do not read every day. There is no babysitter here. I believe this has already been explained many times in the past week. Personally, I see yo...

I would be careful about diagnosing someone online, particularly as mentally unstable, when healthcare professionals don't even do that. Otherwise, Julie's points are very well taken about gregzeng needing to learn how thing work first before making the comments that he did. If you have experience ...
