Re: Proper sleep position using a soft cervical collar
One fact I left out is that I am using a new cervical collar that is a little taller than the last one. Same manufacturer, just a half inch taller. The other one was just a hair to short and allowed my jaw to move a bit. Thus I'd have some nights where I could tell I was mouth breathing. This one fi...

Proper sleep position using a soft cervical collar
I've been using soft collars for quite some time now and usually don't have any troubles. But now for some reason I am experiencing plenty of discomfort all day long on the vertebrae at the base of my neck. Basically where the shoulders and spine all connect, that particular vertebrae at that point....

Re: Need help with CPAP Stats
Possible. I decided to just try another one and this time went with the 3.5" instead of the 3". It'll be here Monday.palerider wrote:maybe you need a bigger one since there may be less chin, or shoulder padding.tazmania wrote:I've actually dropped 10 pounds. Re: Need help with CPAP Stats
I've actually dropped 10 pounds. I doubt that's the reason it is no longer working. I would like to hear if others have found collars that are fairly durable and last more than 6 months. It could be the one I purchased through Amazon is a cheapy and there may be better ones out there. It's hard to f...

Re: Need help with CPAP Stats
Hello guys, I wanted to get some advice. I've been doing great with my PAP therapy for many months thanks to everyone here. However lately I am experiencing some of the same issues I had when I first came here. Dry mouth, large leak % went from 1% to 5% recently and a near empty humidifier each nigh...

Re: Tips on keeping mouth closed
Love my collar. It keeps my mouth shut for the most part. This extended my sleep therapy from just under 4 hours to over 6.30 hours!!!! And now most mornings when I wake up I forget I even have one on. I bought mine on Amazon but I don't see anything that tells me it's a firm collar. 1 inch low dens...

Re: The mattress in your bed?
My wife and I have a sleep number adjustable bed. I'm an 85 and she's a 55. Having sleep apnea and a lower back condition the ability to adjust the firmness and the position of the mattress means I can accommodate both my CPAP therapy and my back condition. I sleep with my head and legs slightly ele...

Re: When to change pressure settings?
Last night, I woke up at 3:26 a.m. and I don't think I was able to really fall asleep. If we could somehow figure out what's causing this nightly wake-up around 3 am, that would be great--I really think that's what's preventing me from feeling well-rested. I remember, when my sleep issues started l...

Re: Dry mouth and high AHI with Auto CPAP
Wow. If that is the kind of advice they are giving you then I'd suggest you cancel that appointment and focus on taking control of your own therapy. I've gone to these Sleep Centers and gotten some rabbit hole advice. Finding this place was a Godsend. I bought a new machine, monitored my own stats w...

Kudos to this site. What a difference 3 months makes?
I just wanted to send out a thank you to all the helpful folks on this site. I came here 3 months ago struggling with my cpap sleep. In the time I've been here the forum has helped me to: Purchase a new cpap machine compatible with Sleepyhead. The stats told me how effective the machine and mask wer...

Re: Snoring while on CPAP
Taz you live in Hudson? I moved to my summer place outside Nekoosa WI a couple weeks ago, but still have a place in Hudson as well. Ah, Nekoosa. You have a place on the Wisconsin river maybe? I grew up in Altoona (little Eau Claire) so I'm familiar with the Nekoosa area but haven't spent a lot of t...

FYI Rome, if our form's sponsor doesn't sell your machine it may not show up in your profile. Mine doesn't so I add my machine profile to my signature so everyone can see it. Do you have a data capable machine that works with Sleepyhead If you do you are in pretty good shape as the wonderful folks h...

Re: Sleepyhead data should i use chin strap
Keio, This is a bit premature to tell you this until you learn if your leaks or mouth breathing are a problem but I wanted to comment on the chin strap should you discover here shortly you do need to do something. I would wake with a dry mouth every morning around 3 or 4am with a severely dry mouth....

And kick that tenant out. It has to be very uncomfortable going to sleep each night with a "suspicious" person in the home.
