Re: Heated Hose
I thought the Airsense 10 came with BOTH hoses - have to admit I didn't notice the non-heated one at first but it was there, tucked away in a pocket in the bag ... are you sure that, like me, you haven't just missed it?

Re: Mouth breathing, detrimental?
I always mouth breath (ffm) and never a problem. Auto machines say that AHI is fine, all other records are fine, I feel fine - I do use humidifier on one machine but, as Biguugly says, even with the humidifier turned up a bit I still have a mouth like the Sahara every morning. Only been on it a year...

Re: Where is the relief???
I did the sleep study (around a year ago) then an auto CPAP to find the "average" pressure (In the UK the NHS supply the equipment for free) an auto CPAP for a week. This gave an average of just 7 so the swap to a manual machine set at 7 and for a month I felt awful! I returned for a pre--arranged a...

Re: Airsense 10 water tub - Standard vs Cleanable
Same as mine - for cleaning a drop it in a bowl of warm water with Steradent tablets (usually 2 - 3) and clean the bits I can't reach easily with a toothbrush (saved for the job!) Also clean the full-face masks and hose using Steradent (break them up and drop them into the hose to clean that). Never...

Re: Has anyone hit a score of 100 in myAir?
Well, in the last week mine has been: Saturday 79 Friday 63 Thursday 99 Wednesday 100 Tuesday 100 Monday 99 Sunday 100 Never really thought much about it. If I want to interrogate the data I just chuck it into Sleepyhead and bingo everything I want/need and some bits I don't understand! Generally, a...

Re: Which travel machine to choose?
Hi, I recently purchased a second machine because of travel & daytime sleeping on the sofa (just a lazy git!). I bought the Transcend http://www.mytranscend.com/ which is small, light AND has the optional battery pack (I bought the 8 hour version). Negatives are, it's a little noisier than my Resmed...

Re: User owned and operated CPAP - Help !
Having recently purchased (direct from the supplier) a Transcend Mini I was initially shocked to find that within the information supplied there was no clinician password. Not a problem (I thought) email and ask for it BUT their response was that they can only provide that to the clinician!!! I argu...

Re: When to upgrade to a new CPAP machine?
y_not, very good things to think about (e.g., even if an upgrade isn't, well, much of an upgrade... it is nice to have a backup. No one wants to be without their CPAP! And your comment about your local power company and the priority-reconnection they offer; that's fascinating! I have never heard of...

Hi,
Usually a sign that the humidifier needs turning down a little - go into the menu and lower it by one notch - try it for a couple of days then another notch if needed.
Good luck

Re: How High Do You Fill You CPAP's Water Tank?
Haha, sorry but the question made me laugh! "How high do you fill your humidifier"? - well, one night (using tap water as always) I got a little carried away and filled it to the top (way above the fill mark) - it was fine, mask on and the machine fired into life, laid down and within seconds my wif...

Re: Cpap and bronchitis
I use CPAP and also have COPD, the humidifier helps moisten the mucus and I take Carbocisteine tablets to thin the mucus and a "Flutter device" (Google & YouTube for details) to clear the mucus. Might be worth a conversation with your health professional? Good luck

Re: When to upgrade to a new CPAP machine?
I purchased (privately) a Resmed S8 18 months ago and it was fine. 12 months ago the sleep study agreed that I needed CPAP and (paid for by the NHS in the UK) I was given a Resmed S9 - I simply couldn't tell any difference whatsoever! 8 months ago I started to feel like I was being slowly suffocated...

Re: Few Questions About Sleep Apnea
1) Tried using my Nasal Pillow Mask. Used machine + humidifier. Why halfway through my sleep did I feel discomfort in my nose and take the mask off, despite using the humidifier? 2) When will my depressive symptoms from sleep apnea disappear, after continual sleep/CPAP usage? 3) What are the side e...
