Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Thanks Julie...I had a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV which I rented from the same DME I'm using now. That info used to be in my signature but it seems to have disappeared. At least I'll know what to request. This wonderful forum interpreted my charts and got me to a setting I could live with. Eventually th...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
So...I did another sleep study and I don't remember what my AHI was but it was in the "serious" range. Mostly centrals but also some hypopneas (no obstructives). My oxygen was 96% and the doc said she'd just been chatting with a colleague about whether situations like mine actually need to be treate...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
No! Not higher! Though I guess I couldn't go much lower. Of course my hope is that I won't need it at all anymore, but I know that's unlikely. I wasn't feeling sleepy or unfocused before I started CPAP therapy and the only discernible difference it made for me was lower blood pressure. I feel I slee...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Hello! I haven't posted in about 7 months so I thought I'd just tack this question onto this thread. I haven't been able to use my ASV for about 7 months because the pressure felt too high and I couldn't fall asleep while using it. I've had 2 laptops break on me and haven't been able to post any cha...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Fingers crossed it doesn’t act up again. At least your intervention worked this time and you now have another trick up your sleeve besides faulty placement of filters.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Thank you Pugsy! I followed your advice and it did the trick. I guess it’s just like computers...first step is always to turn it off and back on. (I also checked the positioning of the filter and it was fine.) Thanks for saving me a trip to the DME! I don’t know what I would do without this website....

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Not sure when it was last changed, but I did check it and it’s pretty clean. I’ll try unplugging it tonight and let you know what happens.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Grrr....So, I was able to solve my last problem by switching back to my old mask, though I can’t see anything wrong with the new one. I was cruising along fine for a few weeks and then a new problem popped up. The pressure is very strong making it impossible to use. It’s just a constant heavy blast....

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
What a pain! I guess it’s good that you’re at least in the right geographical area and, hopefully, no one in your family caught the virus.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
I hope construction has started by now, Zonker. Then how long will it take to finish that? So, I got the old computer booted up and it looks like the problem is large leaks. And I’m remembering now that this corresponded with when I got my dreamwear nasal mask replaced with a brand new one of the ex...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Welp, I suppose it’s possible I’m breathing through my mouth occasionally. I’m a terrible teeth grinder, though. Actually more of a teeth clencher. I recently cracked my bite guard which impressed my dentist because apparently the fancy expensive one I had was supposed to be indestructible. I imagin...

Thanks, Julie and Zonker.
I’m generally not a mouth breather. It only seems to happen when the pressure is too high.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice
Hello again...things had been going smoothly so I haven’t been around for awhile. I’m back for more help from you kind people. First off, my new laptop stopped powering on. So I won’t be able to supply graphs until I either get it fixed or try to boot up my crappy old one. I thought I’d try posting ...

Re: Sudden Leaking Problem
OK, I stand corrected about the increased pressure being caused by leaking.
I still need help understanding why these leaks started happening so suddenly despite replacing the nose piece and what can be done about it. I'm not able to sleep as it stands and this AHI is not normal for me.

Sudden Leaking Problem
For the past 3 nights my mask has been leaking significantly. I can feel the air from the nose piece blowing onto my face. For the last 2 nights the pressure has started ramping up (to compensate, I think) and it wakes me up over and over. 3 days ago my husband let our dog into our bedroom where I h...
