Re: How to restart therapy a year after failing the first time around?
It sounds like things are getting better for you with xpap. What changed, if you don’t mind me asking? Colonoscopy prep notwithstanding (!!), two big things changed: my husband has really encouraged my use of the machine, going so far as to sleep in the spare room on those nights when I was restles...

Re: How to restart therapy a year after failing the first time around?
Figured I'd touch base with a quick progress update: I've used my machine for 9 out of the last 10 days (the other day was the night before a colonoscopy and frankly there were too many toilet trips to bother). I average around 2.5 hours a night due to a waking toddler, but the other night I did alm...

Re: Trouble with sleep apnea & anxiety with CPAP:
I felt incredibly claustrophobic when I first started and used to rip the mask off in a blind panic periodically. I finally found two things that helped: white noise (I play a rain sound on my phone when I'm going to sleep) and not attempting to put the mask on till I was ready to fall asleep (ie, s...

Re: New to CPAP and SO DISGUSTED with MASKS!!!
I am also a mouth breather and struggled to find a mask; I settled on the RESMED AirFit F20. For whatever reason, the F20 For Her was no good despite looking identical to me!

Re: NUMBERS GOING UP, WHY?
Thanks so much for your responses. I have tried to download Oscar and I'm getting this error message: "OSCAR.app” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified, macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware." Any ideas about how to get around this? Thank you. Rather than double...

Re: How to restart therapy a year after failing the first time around?
btw, thanks VERY much for putting your equipment in your sig. the forum software has a feature that takes your equipment profile and shows that with the sig. however, the forum software is currently borked and that function no longer, er, functions. I'm glad you said it's borked, I couldn't work ou...

Re: Starting Over with CPAP
I really want to try the ResMed AirFit F30i Full Face, but I am concerned I will be in the same boat. Does anyone have experience with it? I can breathe like normal in the Mirage Quattro, and I am looking for a similar feel as far as breathing is concerned. I am going to just buy this mask straight...

Re: Any tips for insomnia?
I went through some intensive CBT for insomnia and poor sleep hygiene before my sleep study and diagnosis. I’ve found it harder to fall asleep with the mask on so have fallen back on some of those CBT tactics, including using white noise and basic meditation.

I was diagnosed with severe OSA at the start of 2019. good job in getting started again! as julie asks; what machine, what mask? as you may know from looking around, we don't all use the same. also, what are your pressure settings? good luck! Thanks @zonker. 😊 My pressure is on Auto and I believe i...

No reason you can't roll around with the right equipment - some people use https://www.amazon.com/Hose-Buddy-CPAP-Management-System/dp/B00866NTJY while others attach the hose to the headboard ala these older posts - We can help with many aspects of things - just please stay in this thread so all ca...

How to restart therapy a year after failing the first time around?
I was diagnosed with severe OSA at the start of 2019. I’d been back at work after maternity leave for a year and while the baby was still up multiple times a night, I was exhausted beyond coping and found myself falling asleep at random intervals throughout the day. Not great for my career! Went thr...

Re: Beware of Hospital Charges when Bringing Your Own CPAP
This blows my mind. In my part of the world (Australia) the hospitals do everything they can to facilitate the use of private CPAPs when patients are staying overnight. Certainly no extra charges!

Re: new to everything
That's exactly what my nasal mask is doing. The app shows "no leaks" and I'm like...no. I can feel it hitting my eyes periodically through the night. Is it better with your full face mask? I should be getting mine today. The leak was solved with the full face mask, yes - instant relief for my eyes....
