Amara View and Cushions

Post by yoshi » Fri Dec 04, 2015 11:59 pm

Overall, I love my Amara View but lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night to a sweaty mask on the "corners of my mouth" area and leaks in that specific area. The nose seal and the chin area is fine. I haven't touched the strap adjustments since I started using it in mid Oct.

What's the replacement schedule for the Amara View cushions? I have been looking all over but I can't find a real answer except if it looks cracked, stretched, worn, etc. It doesn't visibly look bad and I do wash it.

I use that mask and plan on changing it to a new one when I think it has gone bad. If it gets better then the mask was done, if not then maybe the head gear has stretched or something.
I have a spare ready to go just in case it breaks already. I have a spare everything except machine so far.

Perhaps I need to do something like that. I didn't get a spare cushion because I was going through the rounds of finding a mask that works for me. I am pretty sure this is the one for me unless something magic comes out soon.

Yoshi -- you said that "lately" you've been waking to those leaks and that you haven't made adjustments to the strap since you started using the mask. You might try making the straps a bit tighter; just a little at a time. Could be that the straps have stretched. Have you washed the straps in hot water? Sometimes washing will tighten them up. As far as replacement for the cushion, have you contacted the place where you bought the mask? On Medicare, I believe you can get two a month.
