New Machine and Respironics Gel Pillow Mask

I haven't been around in quite some time - no problems until my machine failed and had to jump through hoops with Medicare. I now have a Resmed Airsense 10 and a new avant-garde mask- the Phillips Respironics DreamWear Gel Pillows Mask.

Because I had another insurance when I was first diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, Medicare required me to meet face to face with the Sleep Doctor - up to this point I had only worked with the sleep lab. Now I have a copy of my prescription so I can purchase on-line. At any rate, Medicare is renting the machine until June 2, at which point I have to have had another face to face meeting with the sleep doctor before they will purchase it for me.

I'm eager to see how the new pillow mask will work for me. I was spoiled with my old mask, so we'll see how many improvements have been made over the years.

Also, it took me two months to get back on a cpap - that's how much red tape and inefficiency there was. I'll certainly be happy to have a new machine and mask and be able to have a comfortable night's sleep.

I am aware of the Respironics Nuance gel nasal pillows.

Supposedly it is the newest thing. One of the men at the place where I picked up my machine told me he picked it up at a trade show and that it's the newest thing. So, I took it and they will send me new ones to my house when they get them in. I don't know where the gel is. This is supposed to be an improvement over the Nuance gel nasal pillows, but I'm afraid I don't know enough to be able to give you more information yet.

I don't know how to change my equipment profile. I tried to change it but discovered I had forgotten how. Please advise.

Okay, I tried to update my info but I'm not seeing either my machine or my nasal pillow mask.

Respironics may have something new in the works with their "gel" masks but it may not be public yet.
Not unusual.

I'm not sure if this will work, but here is a picture of my mask. It's just become available, and I had a great night's sleep with it. I had a good sleep and I feel great this morning!

OMG how cool. They married the Nuance gel pillows to the DreamWear cushion.
I gotta try that little jewel when it gets released. The pillows will help prevent that cushion from sliding around and causing minor leaks.

I'll be looking to try that one also. I've loved my P10 so much I haven't felt the need to look at others. At first when I looked at masks it was like I was in a candy store and I wanted to try everything. I got some hot deals on Ebay that, once I tried the P10, I never opened. Looks like this one might be the exception. Although with how long my P10 is lasting and the replacements I have, I won't need a mask for a while.

I hear you...I am still giving away from my stockpile of Swift FX pillows.
I have learned to not stockpile so many because odds are I might be trying something else and never know what I might end up liking the best.

That's what happens in a marriage. I guess the Respironics mask name people couldn't think of anything new and figured it's a marriage...let's keep the same name.
I was trying to figure out where they put the gel when she first mentioned it but now I see it...I think it's cool.

I always like the Nuance pillows...just never cared for the headgear.
I rather liked the DreamWear headgear but didn't really care for the cushion all that much.
I think it stands a good chance of being a successful marriage so I am up for trying it. You know me...always up to playing with new stuff. It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it.
