I am really glad I found this forum BEFORE I start my "nap adventure" tomorrow night. Thanks to everyone here for providing so much information, because I would have been so unprepared without it. Now I feel like I know what's going to happen, and if I wind up joining the ranks of the hoseheads, I'll know what to ask for (or insist on) and I'll know where to come with my questions.
Many thanks!
Melissa
Off to the sleep lab tomorrow night
Melissa,
I agree with you wholeheartedly and am delighted that you've found the information on this site helpful in preparation for your sleep study. I discovered this site about a month before my first study and, once I had had the study, came back to ask questions and get suggestions on how to be my own best advocate in the prescription/DME process. Boy, was I glad for the advice and boy, was the sleep doctor surprised that I was armed with so much info. End of story (or at least the end of the first chapter), I received the perfect prescription, exactly the equipment I wanted from the DME, and couldn't be happier with my current setup.
Best of luck with your sleep study and please keep us informed as to how things go!
